Well, I'll be damned. They are going with 3 CBs. I was advocating trying this out, but I was thinking maybe in the CR friendly, not in the biggest game we've had in 2 years.
I expected Adams not to start after not getting 10 minutes in the Honduras game. Ream is faster than Miazga, so if we are going to play 3 in the back then I'm ok.
It is weird. I know he cooled off after a hot start in La Liga, but he's looked at least above average every time he's been on the field for the US. I wonder if he's not fully fit or something.
"Ream is just here for veteran leadership!" Imagine deciding to run Tim Ream out against Mexico. Berhalter is a doofus. And to add, if Adams isn't healthy enough to start either of these games, it was really ********ing stupid to bring him at all.
What a horrible line up even after considering the players available in his already messed up over all roster selections.
If I'm remembering correctly, I thought Ream was a big part of the problem in that loss in '19 GC final. I remember Pizarro getting into the pocket of space between Bradley as the DM and Ream as the LB and just pulling us apart in the 2nd half. Neither one could close him down.
4 of these 11 players - Ream, Yedlin, Acosta, and Pulisic - started in the 1-1 draw at Estadio Azteca in 2017 when Bruce Arena rolled out the same formation.
OK, that was officially the craziest penalty I've ever seen. Minnesota Fats would have loved the English on that shot.
GB just can't be straightforward! 3-4-3 ok. Klinsmann tried something similar in 11/2016 to start off Hex2018 v Mexico. Acosta instead of Musah? Acosta has had good matches v Mexico so interesting and more defensive CM setup. No Lletget or Yueill; Priceless! Are you not entertained? Are You not entertained? US 2 Mexico 0. Lets get it on!
