I am quite sure that the match will be shown on TNT but the US Soccer website and ESPN both show it still on TBS. I have always hoped that all the soccer reporting websites would get it together but, once again, my hopes are dashed.

I’m surprised the TNT announcers do not have the mental capacity to think the midfield won’t evolve to the teams they are playing depending on what those teams might do. Low blocks, press, counter etc. each player has their abilities. Let’s say Australia bunkers down and slows things to a crawl. We want set piece specialist. If Paraguay and Turkey press we want folks who can break those presses.

I’m already wondering what our substitution patterns will look like today.

Against Senegal both the first half and the second half were something of an A/B mix.

Today’s starters present as more of an A team, so wholesale subs in the second half will form more of a B team.

Perhaps the game state will influence how we sub, but we might take a more selective/gradual approach today.

I find myself completely sanguine about this match and this cup.
At this point my expectations had been set so modestly by our recent performance pre-Senegal, not to mention Pulisic's drought. On top of that, I haven't been following closely due to personal stuff, and honestly am feeling down about the atmosphere of our country going into this cup.

And yet, I find myself excited about this test, and who knows? Maybe we surprise the world
