If Berhalter pulls a result out of his ass on this one, he will go down as a legend. Just saying.

Man I could care less about Berhalter. If our guys win they will be legends.

Is that the official line-up? We are starting Wright?

If so, I’ll go on record saying i am surprised.

I'm willing to go on the record to say I have my doubts about the MMA midfield and I think we could use Aaronson and Reyna a lot more in a game like this. But hey, upsets happen all the time. Let's see if I am wrong.

There’s a point on that we should rotate Dest and McKennie out of the line up due to the fact that neither are 100% yet and both are carrying yellows. But this XI makes a statement that Gregg is set on his XI. Only Sargent is out and Wright is in.

I won’t critique it too much. You can make a good argument either way. But I’d probably bring out Dest and McKennie earlier.

It sorta goes the other way though too. If Mckennie gets suspended, you bring in Aaronson. So it’s not some huge deal if Mckennie gets suspended

    Message to the team:

Listen, everyone thinks England already has this game in the bag. They’re the big dog. We’re the underdog. But that’s where we excel. Listen, if you give everything, you have nothing to lose. Be disciplined. Keep your shape. But get after them. Show that you want it more than them. Prove that you’ve got the heart of an American. This is the game that you’ve waited for all your lives, give it everything you got!! Go USA!!

What a massive opportunity for Haji. Good luck to him. Could change his career. Others too but him in particular playing in Turkey.

In a way, we have to win this game twice. Once against the starters. Then, against their super subs.

I think not starting Aaronson is a mistake given how great he has been for Leeds.

I sort of do too. He needs to come on sooner than later in this game. Before our players start cramping.

Haji Wright has to be the most perplexing pick and now start that I can remember.

Dude barely played over qualifying and now he’s starting against England.

Maybe he’s thinking past England and will let Gio and Aaronson rip against Iran. That is the more important game now given today’s other result.

Just woke up, saw Iran won 2-0. This game means exponentially less than it did before. Iran is all the marbles. Hell would be amazing if we pulled something here though

Someone explain to me like im five why we dont rest the yellow card players?

And if he doesn’t and we can’t beat Iran he will be gone. Man for man we are pretty overmatched but you never know.

So much for saving Gio. CP90. Haji Wright starting. Not a very creative lineup by Gregg & he's taking a questionable risk w/ a very unproven, flawed striker option.

Hope Wes is healthy enough. If so, it wouldn't shock me if we won the midfield for the first 55-60. But then have to be ready to make changes once they're fading.

This is the game that is going to capture your non soccer watching American so I get not wanting to punt on in it, but I'm not a fan of starting the guys on yellows

Gio isn’t playing because he brings nothing on the press and has been playing limited minutes for his club team. Not sure why Aaronson isn’t in for Wes?
