PBP: United States vs Costa Rica [Matchday thread] 10pm ET

There is a nifty Confederations Cup, Two Copa America runner-ups, and enough Gold Cups to go around. That is more silverware than any of the regional rivals. Which is one of my points as to why USMNT should have a different mentality in the region. They are second in gold cup wins and have a Confeds Cup runner-up. That and qualifying consistently to the WC. Then I see how they play against the Ticos and it's like they are still using Sampson's playbook.

 

I've been thinking the same thing. We're really playing for 4 spots this year. CONCACAF is going to send 4 to the WC. The All-Whites are a scrappy bunch, but beatable.

 

I hear you, but tonight I don't think there was a playbook other than figure out a way to see the ********in ball and somehow put one in the back of the net. Even you guys would have looked like garbage in that weather. Also, its not like we PLANNED to play in the snow.

Oh and don't forget our 3rd place WC finish in like 1694
