He does have a thing for Lletget.

I imagine Zardes will be playing the number 10 role playing horizontally across the pitch.

Acosta and Zardes both on yellows, I'm surprised he's risking both of them

Glad he's rolling with the 3-5-2 in light of the makeup of this particular 23 roster.

Zardes played very well against them in the Nations League. Hopefully he plays well again.

I like Lletget. Good things usually happen when he puts shots on goal.

I’m impressed he’s making up for his mistake for the first game.

Sucks you can’t make roster changes after the first game.

Lletget was pivotal in the US' previous competitive win over Canada, if you want to call that "a thing". I'm ambivalent about him vs. Roldan for this match.

I think prior competitive performance against the same opposition is one reason he's playing Zardes over Hoppe, which I personally wouldn't have done. On paper Dike and Zardes don't mix well, and we don't learn anything from playing Gyasi.

This is a mid-level lineup for what I'd expect.

Close to the strongest team available. If this is a trend with GGG, I'm very excited about our team as a whole.

I don't know. Some people in the peanut gallery want us to rest our starters until knockouts.

    a. what makes them the starters? This seems to be pre-ordained. It's one thing we're supposed to be finding out for this tourney and going fw.

    b. speaking of which, this is our last shot to experiment. You think it should be done during ko's? Otherwise the experiment for many consists of Martinique, which tells us next to nothing, so it's by and large wasted. You need to have the mettle and priority to try new things when it's a significant test.

Also wanted Hoppe, but who knows how many minutes he has on a short rest while being in off-season shape.

As expected. No surprise in our lineup. Let's see who stands out. This game will be a good test for our boys.

I believe it is a 3-4-3 (1-2) with Lletget sitting behind Zardes and Dike in the role Roldan played for much of the 2nd half v Martinique.

    Zardes Dike
    Lletget
    Vines Busio Acosta Moore
    Robinson Sands Zimmerman
    Turner

Good lineup, I just wished GB had not used Acosta v Martinique and allowed him some rest.

Main complaint is that I would have started Hoppe over Zardes. But it is what it is. Hopefully, we see him early in the 2nd half.

This is a solid lineup. I think this is probably the lineup Gregg thinks is his top team in this tournament.
