That Panama goal starts with zero defensive positioning by the MIDFIELDER on that side, allows a simple early ball to the right back who doesn't close down because he's getting into position. Ream sees the man but is doesn't call it and doesn't attack. Miazga at fault for not paying attention. On my books this goal is a lack of defensive positioning in midfield, lazy closing and terrible defensive leadership. Gio, Adams, Moooooosah!, stupid to play Dest on the left, but that's what american coaches love to do, ask Chandler and the rest can sub in when needed.
C'mon! When your backs are having trouble passing the ball, a midfielder needs to comeback and demand the ball
Not a good shot from Reyna, but we're running circles around Panama now. The Panama goal definitely woke us up.
He was pissed he didn't get the goal or assist. Good purchase on the shot, which is his biggest strength.
You'll go back and watch that goal and realize it was a team breakdown and Ream should have called it out as it was in front of him. Miazga definitely lazy lazy lazy defending, but he also had zero help.
So I hate to keep dwelling on this.........but Lletget was really keeping this guy on the bench? Seriously?
Musah-McKennie-Adams is going to be a nightmare for opposing midfields to deal with. So physical and smart.
That's what I was saying last week. This is the strongest unit (midfield or otherwise) we've ever had. It behooves us to keep him, and it behooves us to build the squad around their strengths. We need to be a pressing 433 team now.
