United States - Germany???

    Have them camp in Florida during that time.

    It's not likely they'd be staying in Germany during the X-mas/NY break anyway.

    This is the first I had heard about this. Oh well. Would have been nice to play Germany in the colonies.

    It seems as though this is a mistake on the part of Germany.
    Germany has a very young team and high quality friendlies will be exceedingly rare in Europe, with everyone either recently qualified or recently eliminated.
    Throwing an inexperienced young German team at 31 other teams that had to fight to get there may be setting the home team up for an early exit, especially if they draw into a tough group.
    Friendlies are all that Juergen has at his disposal to sharpen his team. He needs more rather than less.
    That said, I'm sure he knows his sport and his team a lot better than I do.

    ah, we now know how the draw will be rigged so the usa will end up in the germany group...that explains why klinnsmann is reluctant to face us!!
