I don't care whether the jersey says "Futty" or "Danso"--I want one.

It then has to be Futty Danso

Looks a lot like Daouda Kante. Hope he plays more like Bakary Soumare. I really hope that Futty nickname isn't a misspelling.

Where is Daouda these days I wonder. I miss that who's your Daouda chant.

I doubt he'll make the roster, since he'll take up an international spot and dev spot.

He played forward last year, we need a veteran CB, not some young kid who may be good in 4 years.

Although, we do need some speed in the back, so maybe that's what he brings to the table.

What United really needs to do, is sell Emilio before the Summer window, then bring in Gooch as our DP. Gooch paired with a fast CB would be a great pairing.
Gooch in a stopper role, speedy CB back as sweeper.

And because in the videos referenced on Goff's blog, he looks awful. I hear what you're saying. But BtB seems to suggest he's been signed, rather than being on trial. I hope not.

When Andy Gustafson and I were talking to his parents waiting in line for our flight back to BWI from Columbus, we should have suggested they tell Gooch to come to DCU. :)

Actually, though, I think Onweyu's future is in one of the major Euro leagues. He's not going to leave Belgium to come to MLS.

qft. I think I'm as likely to be on DCU's roster this year as Gooch is. :D

I agree with getting rid of emilio, but not for a CB DP. Another forward def. though.

A good quality CB can be found for less than DP money.

    Agreed.

The DP at the high skill positions has been anything but a certainty in terms of the quality received in return. A DP center back? At the expense of the best finisher on the roster? Wow.

sure - easy - dump Emilio and use his salary to pick either Maldini or Zanetti for wha?, say 200-250K? - Why not try to go for both - I'm sure Beckham has told them all about how wonderful MLS is and how much he admires DC United

So they just randomly signed this guy without seeing how he works with the team? That's kind of a kick in the balls to the guys that have been working for their spots already...

Another brilliant move by United.

I hear NOVA has a hot shot right midfielder that played coed a few years ago. I assume the front office will give him a shot?

Said Kasper of Danso: "We are pleased to have obtained Mamadou from the MLS waiver process. He is a strong central defender with a big, physical presence and we look forward to giving him an opportunity to earn a spot with D.C. United."

Sounds like he has to earn it just like everyone else.

Wow, will every player that United signs be ridiculed.

Give the player a chance before you get ready to throw him to the dogs.
