this is part of a directory i've created to assist gpk and myself with the morning news... in addition, i hope some might use it to contact some of the various forms of media that cover mls also, i would like to ask for some help in creating this... if anyone knows of any errors or missing sources that i do not have, please let me know thanks, -jim
the soccer show's hosts are john dyson and martin fernandez. another thing to add to the database: The Common Denominator editor/publisher is Kathryn Sinzinger main writer used to be me but i don't work there anymore if there is something big going on email newsdc@aol.com and tell her it's worth covering, they do a lot of stuff that is specifically district-related so clinics and inner-city stuff would be very good for them. main phone number is 202-635-6397 address is 600 rhode island avenue ne suite n washington dc 20002
Wash Times details... Haydon writes a weekly soccer column EVERY Saturday in the Times. They are generally excellent. He also contributes occasional soccer articles during the week on United. Ken Wright is (was?) the United beat guy (ala Goff at the Post.) The Times "beat" coverage is "streaky" sometimes it outpaces the Post (which is really good) and other times it is nonexistent.
Re: Wash Times details... Sorry, Ken Wright almost never outpaces the Post. When he does "break" personnel news, it's generally wrong. And he's got a bad habit of letting his pissing match with United management work its way into stories. Wright (WDH) is just awful. You're better off reading The Common Denominator. Haydon isn't bad, but he's not full-time.
no problem... i'm still not sure how i ever got it to the present point... it truly has a life of its own and not a bad idea... the mods in the fire forum have done the same with the fire information i've updated the soccer show's information, thanks jon... i'm a bit hesitant on the common demonitator... it should be added, but i came up with nothing in their archives for soccer coverage... i'd highly recommend dc area fans to write in, in the hopes they provide some coverage... and then i'll feel better about adding it -jim
