I was hoping I could get some help locating a soccer shop that carries supplies and DC United jerseys or other United gear. I need some Indoor shoes and I want to try them on first. Normally Dick's, Modell's etc don't carry the better quality indoor shoes. While I'm there I'd like to find some United gear. I'd like to find a place in Maryland since I live on this side of the beltway but I'd drive to VA to make sure I get the right fit
Two stores in Montgomery County Check out Soccer American in Kensington or Rockville Soccer. Soccer American is a bigger store with more variety. http://www.socceramerican.com/ Rockville Soccer is right on the Pike. http://www.rockvillesoccer.com/ I remember seeing DCU stuff in Soccer American last time I went. I can't remember whether Rockville Soccer also had some. Give them both a call and find out what they have.
The Soccer Pro Shop in Fairfax - near Rt 50 and 123 intersection - next to Hooter's. I havent' been there since they expanded but they have a lot of gear. When they were tiny they didn't have any DCUnited stuff but they may now.
Since the official DC United store (online) doesn't have any gear right now, I seriously doubt any other stores in the area would have it. But then again, we are talking about the DC United store.
Rockville soccer will not be getting the new black jerseys till sometime in March. They do have the white jerseys, 2003 black jerseys, and good indoor shoes.
This is a pretty good store, with a decent selection of shirts from around the world and a lot of blank, off-the-rank soccer clothing and gear by all the big names. I got my 2003 DCU shirt there last September (?) and they had a good dozen of them on the racks, plus more in the back. I would suppose that they will be carrying the 2004 kits within a month or two of the season starting. Parking is a bit of a pain, what with the fact that it is near one of the strip mall entrances from Route 50 and with all the next-door Hooters traffic coming and going. (No nasty pun intended)
Like neilgrossman linked, Soccer American off Connecticutt Ave is a great place, large selection of quality footwear. I was there last Friday and they have a white United jersey in the window. Don't know if it's the '03 or '04, but it's got a popular name and number: #9, Adu. dadman
