According to my sources, Hamlin is actually negotiating what price he'll have to pay to play for DC United. The sticking point is apparently Hamlin is willing to shell out $10 per week and DC United demanding $50,000 per week. DC United is willing to give up the roster spot if it means they have an extra $50,000 per week to pay some big name player a real salary. Talk is of getting someone of the name recognition of Bergkamp, Ronaldo, Zidane, or perhaps Owen. Of course, my sources are the voices in my head... BTW - thanks Ursula...

Just had to stop by and say that this is an excellent example of the quintessential off-season thread. Thank you all dadman ps-Red&Black is right, Thamlin is blameless for the missed shot, and though he couldn't outrun a rentacop in full waterlogged regailia, that's undoubltly due to improper stud selection for the playing conditions. Swim fins would have been a better choice.
