    From the press release:
Is that the guy who sounds like he's on meth? I love that guy! He reminds me of the Univision-type announcer from the Simpsons soccer match: "Halfback, passes to centerback, holds it, hold it, HOLDS IT!!!"

The Mexican soccer team has first possession of the ball and is cautiously kicking the ball around, setting up for a goal as the Portugal team stands there, awaiting the play to develop. The crowd quickly grows bored.

Brockman: (obviously bored as he calls the action) "Halfback passes to the center. Back to the wing. Back to the center. Center holds it. Holds it. (rolls eyes) Holds it..."

Mexican Announcer: (excitedly) "Halfback passes to center, back to wing, back to center, center holds it! Holds it! Holds it!"

Other great lines from that episode:

Announcer: It's all here...fast kickin', low scorin', and ties."

Homer: (after the announcer names the players) "Oohhhhh, I don't know any of these guys."

And, from the non-soccer lines, after Homer is denied the right to buy a gun because of the five day wait: Five days? But I'm angry now!

Announcer: And they'll all be signing autographs.

    Homer: Whoo-hoo!

Jim Hatch Sales Manager at WMET is an old friend of mine. When they came on board last year he was one of those skeptics about MLS and soccer in general. Then he stopped by a couple of Barra tailgates and got hooked. He's really enthusiastic about the team and the sport. He called me last week and rambled on about opening day. :) If anybody wants to buy some air time on WMET, Jim's your guy.

So are these guys on the radio any good? I didn't get a chance to listen in last year at all.

I believe it was, "Slow paced, low scoring, ................and ties? You Bet!"

    and

This match will determine which is the greatest country of all time........Mexico or Portugal!

I onlylistened once or twice, but it was worth it. The guy really gets into it. It's on the Web. He even made sitting on the porch drinking a beer through the boring 0-0 Colorado match worth it.
