Ashe is as good as he's ever going to be and is probably overpaid. Does anyone want to offer evidence that suggests the Union should acquire him outside of the fact that he's left footed? And Hoppenot and Bone as the worst. There isn't a statistical system that doesn't throw out strange numbers from time to time. Tell me something I haven't already written in this very thread.
Got some lunch and didn't miss a thing. Guess it wasn't all that "breaking" after all. Classic Kerith.
if they're posting in in the daily doop it looks like it will be posted later today since those posts are usually around 4pm or after..just a guess
This is probably not Kerith's fault, but based on his history so far, this looks terrible for him. He is just not a reliable Union voice and you need to be that if you are the voice on the website. Boy who cried wolf?
So, you're saying he's not platinum ... or even gold? ...and it's in! Gaddis gets paid. http://www.philadelphiaunion.com/ne...r-gaddis-who-remains-philly-courtesy-new-deal
I'm happy for Gaddis. But I wanted a juicier announcement. Maybe this opens the door to Candyman's exit. Although I couldn't be that lucky. And yes, he's been better lately, but I still think he brings a negative presence to the team.
In throwing options sgainst the wall, my Gaddis new contract option wins. It is similar to Williams getting a new contract in 2012 preseason after being a starter for 1.5 seasons making league minimum while watching the other starters making decent $.
I've seen a few boulders on the side of the road that could probably fill in nicely, and no one would notice the difference.
Perhaps slightly off-topic but I thought this was an interesting article on the use of stats in soccer. It relates to my posting of WhoScored and Castrol rankings to consider the relative merits of Williams/Gaddis/Ashe yesterday and the subsequent discussion of whether either system was worth a damn. Carlos Shootsalot?
Surprised no one brought this up in a joking (well, serious maybe for some of you) manner... http://www.sounderatheart.com/2014/9/11/6137105/timo-hildebrand-trains-sounders
"Rais, we are going to need you to go on out and and spend some extra minutes teaching yourself positioning on corner kicks....."
