Side note - once again looks like they botched the color of gold the name and numbers will use... drives me nuts. If you can't manage to match the team colors just use white for them. I like that the team had to use a hard filter to make it look slightly cooler. I will admit I like the lighter shade of gold and tweaked badge.

The mock up with the gold stripe looks much better. I wonder what the "Fan Council" said when they got to see the jersey.
The article on the Union's website mentioned a "cleaner, simplified design" for the logo but didn't explicitly show the difference...FootyHeadlines has a side-by-side comparison though and for me the difference is night and day. They got rid of the white ring in the old logo, the new lighter gold looks miles better, they darkened the blue which I'm on the fence about (I think I would've liked it to stay the same color), and then for me the biggest difference: they ditched the scorpion-ish background stripes which I never understood, and we have normal, vertical, blue and gold stripes in the background.
Ha! This was their big chance to fix the fact that the two P's in PhiladelPhia were different... ...and they didn't do it. That's so Union.
