http://www.phillysoccerpage.net/2012/07/01/union-cut-ties-with-gutierrez-eskandarian/ Interesting move. I am not sure if they resigned or the Union let them go. Though from the article it looks like they were let go. I am a little worried who our head of scouting will be now.
Wow. Totally didn't see that coming. I guess they're really trying to distance themselves from the Nowak era. I really liked Gutierrez and hoped they'd keep him on...
So I guess that means if Hack doesn't continue a stunning turn around, he'll also get axed in the off-season. I mean, the writing has to be on the wall here. Hack was hired by Nowak too.
I don't think that would be the case. I think if Hackworth has a respectable season he will be held on to. As a supporter when I really don't associate Hackworth with Nowak but I do when I think about Gutierrez and Eskandarian. But I wonder if Hackworth had anything to do with this decision?
Sometimes you notice little things, but don't think much of them. I saw how Aleko changed his Twitter avatar over the weekend, no longer using the one showing him in a Union warm-up. Hmmm.
This could also be the case of Hackworth wanting his own guys on his staff, and not Nowak's. These guys may be loyal to Nowak, and Hackworth may not have seen eye-to-eye with them. Plus, when a new head coach comes in, there's always going to be some turnover. Truth be told, I think this is the front office's way of removing the interim tag and saying to Hackworth, "We like what we've seen so far, and we want to see what your other plans are."
Don't know anything about Eskandarian so no opinion, I think Gutierrez hit more than he missed so it its a bit dissapointing. The one name I want for the U to cat ties with will never be.
Whether they were fired or decided to leave on their own is probably something we'll never know, but only a few short weeks ago they were still part of the technical staff: http://www.philadelphiaunion.com/news/2012/06/union-head-man-sakiewicz-explains-dismissal-nowak I guess they didn't say for how long. Soumare also stated one of the reasons he signed here was because of Gutierrez. http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2012/06/26/soumare-reveals-union-move-was-long-time-making As much as Diego and Aleko were "Nowak guys", you might have to wonder how "Nowak players" such as Carroll and Adu will fare with the regime change. And for that matter, how much does the Latin America pipeline dry up now that Diego is gone, regardless of the player-partnership-deal we have with Saprissa.
as dumb as this sounds, do we have anyone now on the coaching staff/FO that speaks spanish? its probably tough to deliver a motivational speech through an interpreter
Actually after word got out that Diego was funneling talent through his brother as the agent, I'm glad to see him gone. As for Ecks, not sure what the deal was there and probably will never know.
I know this may sound strange, but you have to learn the language that everyone speaks on the team, especially the coach. It's not the coaches' jobs to adhere to you as a player. It's the player's job to adhere to the club. I can't imagine that there are Mexican clubs who have English speaking coaches to make things easier on Americans who sign there. Same with Italy. There was a huge joke amongst Juventus supporters that one reason why a Dutch and Serbian player never worked out and fit into the squad was because they didn't speak Italian.
I need to fix mines too. 2 names I would like ties to be cut with but 1 will never happen. Cut Rigby and bring the internet guy from the USOC game, he was more than decent and holding the whole thing on his own. The other person would probably have be bought out, he did clean up well getting rid of almost everyone who could point the finger to him.
It's also possible that they're leaving now because Nowak found another job and he wants them to join him.
HEARTS? http://euro2012.onet.pl/wiadomosci/...m-reprezentacji-polski,1,5177048,artykul.html according to this, Nowak ins angling to become the national team head coach of Poland. 2nd edit. an intervew with king Piotr from a couple of days ago. http://translate.googleusercontent....kJrhg34X9CJ9QdNovFs3iRHmKEyg34Mw#czytaj_dalej google translation is ok I guess. or at least I can make it out. as for the split, it just says "disagrrement with the ownership." Dills if you find this is better in the Nowak thread please do me the favor.
Eskandarian I didn't follow closely, so I have no opinion on him leaving. Gutierrez I'm glad to see out. His signings - other than Gomez - were mostly a bust this year, and the nepotism angle was ugly.

I swear to God if Nowak becomes the manager of Poland....I don't want him to go from coaching my favorite team just to coach my national team. That is just unfair.....
