That whole region is like the old Yugoslavia after the breakup.

Look at Pakistan and Bangladesh and the ethnic cleansing of non-Muslims there, now the Myanmar monks are trying to do the same to the Muslims.

fvcked up shit, Suu Kyi needed the votes from the people that follow the monks, so she looks the other way.

Buddism can be as intolerant as the other religions (and communist atheist states were/are also very intolerant towards religions).

Edit: Note the date of the article, this has been going on for a while, and it is getting worse.

Also lets remember Sri Lanka also had Buddhist monks inciting hate against the Tamil (Hindu) people there during their civil wars.

I know Assam has a high Buddhist population, are they majority Buddhist?

I know they are not for the most part ethnically Indians, so they have those issues with Delhi.

The article is about the Hindu government, Modi is pretty much a Hindu Nationalist, not much different than Trump.

Edit: I was way wrong about the Buddhist population in Assam.

There is really no such thing as ethnically Indian. As for religion in Assam I don't think any religion has a majority.

    1. True, India has tons of ethnic groups.

    2. According to wiki (could be wrong of course) 60% are Hindu.

Man I had overestimated the Buddhist population in India. I was under the impression that some of the states in NE India were majority Buddhist, but non are, The highest I say was 13%, while at least 2 of them are majority Christian.

Another genocide watched by the UN and the world in complicit silence.

Surely Assad and his fascist genocide apoligst supporter will rush to defend Aung San Suu Kyi

"Anti-war" activists will certainly march in support of Myanmar's regime as they do for Assad. After all, if genocides is backed by Russia, it must be fine.

Putin apparently forgot to check with his attack dog Kadyrov before allowing this statement to be released. Kadyrov has been allowing pro-Rohinga demonstrations in Chechnya and throughout Russian it has been proven that opposition to Kadyrov's wishes can be deadly.

Sad to see an inspirational figure exposed as a fraud. What do we really know about the people we idolize? She was once a courageous woman who risked all for her ideals. Did she lose her courage, or does she simply not give a shit about the plight of Muslims?

She actually has very little power, the Constitution still gives most powers of the state to the Generals.

Obviously she could still speak out and condemn the genocide, but she is helping in the attempted cover up.
