Ronaldo Cerritos is now added to the list of players up for the US soccer Hall of Fame along with Cienfuegos and Raul Diaz Arce. http://www.ussoccer.com/News/Federa...-of-Fame-Class-of-2012-Ballots-Finalized.aspx
Gotta say...really don't like the new layout Bigsoccer has gotten. Welp, here are highlights from the 2 times Diaz Arce hit 4 in a game...enjoy...
Couple of nice videos of our top 2 GKs in the 90's, Superman and Misael. I don't understand why the it shows so many goals vs Superman in his video package (Might be an inside joke because he was a beast) but a good chance to look at old Highlights I hadn't seen before myself...

Sad News today Gregorio Bundio who coached the national team and help them qualify for the first world cup External Links: http://www.elgrafico.com/2015/03/08/fallecio-gregorio-bundio-dt-que-nos-clasifico-a-mexico-1970
I thought this was just a rumor but apparently it's true. Now most of us will know why Nildeson de Mello career with the national team was short. I always wondered why we didn't get to see him play more often. “LA DROGA NO ES COMO COMIENZAS, ES COMO TERMINAS” - Nildeson Silva de Mello “Nenei” https://miensayo.wordpress.com/2010/05/12/95/ ¿Qué fue de Nidelson de Mello? http://mensaje77.blogspot.com/2011/12/que-fue-de-nidelson-de-mello.html “Irresponsable, travieso y a veces parrandero” http://www.elsalvador.com/vertice/2004/261204/abocadejarro.html
Given with what happened that 2008-9 run seems so unspecial now. The 98 qualifiers hurts way more with how literally a few goals and plays made the difference. Would have been awesome to see Cienfuegos and Diaz Arce on the world stage in their absolute prime. Hurts.
I don't even want to think about the ESMNT in 2008 and 2009. I was able to live with the fact that we were close to qualifying because that's football, but the fact that we didn't qualify because our players sold themselves is absolutely heartbreaking. A few of these players were some of my favourite ES players like Castillo, Julio and Osael, and they basically said "F you". @TBR so our '98 cycle of players were really that good? I didn't start following the ESMNT until 2008.
I rmb the97 Mexico v Salvador match and people could not watch the game because of the refs calls. I wouldn't say they were like USA or Mexico matches ups for 08 though imo
Damn, how old are you man? Just looked up the game. How the hell did the referee not award ES a penalty kick for that tackle? The way Mexico scored that goal was pretty impressive, I'll give them that.
