It's clear this guy Dark Night will just take everything the way he wants too. It's pointless as whatever anyone says he repeats the same things over and over, he see's it like this: Ok so they are proving me wrong but i'm a mod and i see things the way i want too. End of story.
So rioters are the same as ISIS beheading people? Again, if I can show you Sal clearly race-baiting and using a racial slur, will you apologize for acting like @Sal is some innocent poster who would never do such things?
Serious question - do you think Italy has a fair reputation when it comes to race awareness, racial sensitivity, and tolerance of other races? Please remove the homophobic slur from your signature.
None of us would say that Sal is a saint, would never hurt a fly, etc. because he's not perfect, just like everyone else. But there was never any intention on his part, which is the main thing to be considered for his case. I guarantee you his honest answer to if he was purposely/actively trolling or baiting would be no.
Does it matter? This was only ever about his remark for which he was banned for. You're well within your rights to go through a person's post history and ban them for any little offense, although that's a great way of getting people to hate you.
Any little offense? Going to a thread to troll and race-bait and post slurs is now "a little offense"? Do you think I'm trying to get Sal to like me? I get it now - it's irrelevant to you that Sal has a history, but it isn't to us. Posting history matters.
Sorry, but I'm not concerned about his history. You can ban him for any infraction no matter how severe, the same applies to any of us. All I'm trying to say is that the remark for which he was banned had no intentions of being racist, that's it.
Then take your advice and find the people in that racism thread. I'm 100% POSITIVE you will find a lot of racial slurs and excessive behavior and remarks towards other groups. You can't just red card 1 when others in that thread have done worse and gotten away with nothing
And I'm not saying you are wrong - I have no idea what his true intentions were. When people say to me they aren't racist, I usually take them at their word.
If there are lots - feel free to send me links and I'll take a look at any and all of them. But looking for perfect fairness from us in all things will only end in tears.
Which country has taken the burden of rescuing migrants from Africa from unsafe boats sent by human traffickers? Don't make the assumption that a few idiots in a stadium making monkey noises represent an entire country. That offends me.
the same thing happens everywhere go look up on Youtube Kameni. He's an african goalie and he was racially abused BY HIS OWN FANS. I think he played for Malaga but i'm not sure
I'm not making any assumptions - I'm just asking the question. Offense is a funny thing though isn't it?
considering you banned someone for it. If i was a mod and you weren't i could possibly take that as offensive towards italian in a way where you were trying to bait a response. In which case i guess i could yellow or even red card you.
You have offended those of us of Italian heritage by asking that question. Ask the same question of most Europeans about the United States and I bet the answer will be negative. What have Italians done for you to make such an inquiry? Do you know the history of Italian immigrants into this country? It was not very kind. Do you know the story of one of the worst lynch mobbing in the U.S.? Guess who were the victims. It happened in New Orleans. So please do not brand Italians as racists.
I think it's obvious that the actual ban is this groups problem. Why don't you just delete the offensive content and move on? If someone really doesn't get it after a couple warnings, ban them from the subforum .. A site wide ban is pretty over the top IMO, and if anything that's the only part that screams "oh really well look what I can do" power tripping type approach.
You could I guess, but you'd have a tough time convincing the Supermods that it was warranted. So asking if Italy's reputation on race is fair is offensive but calling Black Americans who riot "********ing animals" is fine? Got it. I was honestly just asking the question - I was in Italy recently and loved it, but there was what I thought to be a fairly noticeable racial divide. It seems clear to me that many seem to think that Italy has problems with racism and I've had Italian friends say to me that racism does exist. I'm curious what y'all's take is. Heck, I'm a Texan and we don't have the best history in terms of race - the US has lots of problems with racism still, even though we get high and mighty about racism in stadiums in Europe.
Once again he called the acts of the rioters f******* animals. NOT black americans. He then said "is it right to destroy your home" Would you call someone who destroys their home an animal regardless of whether they were white, black or Hispanic?
Posters who post offensive content often get site-wide bans. We don't change that just because they may be a very popular poster.
