Here is the official thread for the 2 games. Except Nani and Joao Moutinho to be back with the team to ensure that we move on.

    João Moreira (Valencia)

Can someone supply some info on this kid? Everytime I see him he impresses me. He seems like an unbelievable talent after entering a game but I rarely see him start. I looked on Valencia team page and he isn't even listed.

He is a striker that can play on the wing as well. He plays on the Valencia B Team. He is was bought 2 years ago as a 18 year old from Esteral Amadora. Not good enough for the big 3 but Valencia was very impressed with him

He was on loan at rayo vallencano last season, I believe he is with the Valencia reserves this season.

Here is his profile on valencia's site:

I thought I remember hearing something about Real Madrid looking at him but deciding against him because they had too many strikers in their ranks?

The 2nd goal for Russia came off a free kick after a hand ball by Paulo Machado (he was also shown a yellow)

Portugal not playing very well with the exception of Joao Moutinho.

Paulo Machado is substituted by Felipe Oliveira...

Moutinho seems to be the only Portuguese player having a good game.

Portugal lacks agressiveness and is feeling the affects of very fast counter attacks by the Russians.

Now 3-1 Russia as expected the Russians catch the Portuguese Defense pushing up to much and strike the death blow...

This does not look good for Portugal as Russia will clearly come to Portugal and "park the bus" again...

The kids have to learn to stop reading their press clippings and show up to play a game. It is never an easy game in Russia and these kids are learning it the hard way.

By the way Joao Perreira looked horrible in getting 2 yellows...my how this once highly acclaimed Lampiao prospect has fallen...

    Wow. Disapointment today.

Ricardo Vaz Te was absolutly horrible. Looked incredibily slow and uncreative. Gave away a number of balls in dangerous posistions. The only thing postitive from him was that he helped out somewhat on defense. Completly disapointed with his performance, he is definitly not ready for the Seleccao.

The 2 yellow cards on our right side defender were pretty bad calls, espically the second yellow that led to the sending off. Regardless, Portugal did not look good in this game at all. Didn't see to be creating any chances.

The bright spots for me in this game were Veloso's performance(Althugh he got raped on the third goal) and Joao Moutinho(his pass to Machado was so sexy). Rolando also played solid, althought he defintly still needs some work.

Overall, I found the team didn't want to attack, which is very suprising. Considering the amount of potential, offensively, that this U-21 team holds.

Now I have to go to school, with a U-21 Portugal loss...:(

Penalty against Portugal in extra time 4-1 in favor of Russia...kiss the U21 Championship Good bye as Portugal would need to win 3-0 to advance..highly unlikely as Russia will most surely "park the bus"
