Group Stage finishes up with a whole lot of Tar Heel action for the opening and winning goal. Devey to Thomas for goal 1, Shores and Dellarose involved before Thomas blasts it home for the winner. The goalie on the SoloFC team is Yenith Bailey who plays for the Panama National Team. Brooks may also be playing but with another team. _____
Bella Devey & Carli Lloyd have developed some chemistry at the TvT, and the former just set up the later for a fantastic winning goal in the quarter-finals. Olivia Thomas also scored a quintessential Olivia Thomas back to goal tally in the game. Semi-Finals tomorrow. Tar Heel prominent for the "US Women" through this tournament. Tessa Dellarose with the winner in their semifinal game, late in extra time when the teams were down to playing 3 v 3. Regulation goal for Bella Devey. Final tomorrow. 1931830976889393226 is not a valid tweet id
I noted last night that my favorite UNC keeper Lindsey Harris certainly had her hands full in the over time with 3 saves in the extra time (total 9 saves for the game.) Her reflexes still seem to be good!
Evelyn Shores with the million dollar goal, assisted from HAO who gets mistaken for Dellarose on the call. Bella Devey with an assist to former Tar Heel Casey Loyd, and Tessa Dellarose nods in a goal on a touch set piece delivery I think for Long but Keller was there as well. 1932231770415509811 is not a valid tweet id
Well, CONGRATULATION to the "US Women Club" who won the 1 Million prize. Before tax that would be about 31k for each of the listed players and staff (Assuming it is distributed evenly.) Fun to watch. The combination of a some US retired players and a hand full of UNC college student players got the job done. As I suspected, keeper Lindsey Harris managed to have the highest marks compared with the other 15 teams-- 3 games not scored upon along with the highest save average percentage for the women. Good help from the backs helped a lot, and the front line did a great job. Near the end of the second half(?) and on the extra time for getting to the "target" more of the players were the college age gang (duh!).. FUN!
I agree. She certainly has talent. I suspect by the end of her first year she will have learned how to fit in to team play at a higher level and be a real asset.
Hmmm... I see that UC Soccer has decided to hold a summer camp for college players who have not been on an age US national team. US Soccer has identified 42 college players for a training camp starting on June 18 in Atlanta. Sounds like a good thing. But one bump that I am confused about. As far as I know, midfielder Shaela Bradley is a player at Rutgers with a good start as a freshman last fall, but the US Soccer roster shows Bradley as a UNC player. Anyone know If this a mistake or has she transferred to UNC?
She was in the portal so I guess she landed at UNC. Never saw it announced but she isn't on the Rutgers roster anymore
It seems that you have solved the question... Thanks. I've looker her up and she was from a small town north of Vancouver and her club days were down at Portland.
She's from La Center, Washington, which is about 25 miles north of Portland, OR. She played for the Thorns Academy, which is the academy run by the Portland Thorns organization. I don't know as a fact, but my educated guess is that before she joined the Thorns Academy she played for a Vancouver, WA club coached by former USWNT player Tina Frimpong Ellertson, who played her college soccer at the University of Washington and had a brief time with the Portland Thorns. Her club teams in Vancouver were outstanding.
