Very surprised that nobody else has expressed concern over this yet. Best I can tell, the Rapids-Metros match will not be televised locally in Colorado. According to my ReplayTV unit, MSG is showing the match. TVguide.com says the same thing. Unfortunately, this only means you'll get the match with the Shootout package. There's nothing in the "TV" column of the schedule on the Rapids website. I don't recall seeing a press release this year from the Rapids announcing a deal with Fox. MLSnet lists the 3 other games on Saturday as being on ESPN2, FSW and HDnet. Then again, they're not listing any regional carriers for any games on any weekend. I wonder... have the Rapids not solidified a contract with FSRM? If so, why hasn't this been announced, and why isn't FSRM listing the game in their broadcast schedule?
From today's RapidFire: "RAPIDS FACE METROSTARS SATURDAY The Rapids are set for their next game, as they will travel to Giants Stadium this Saturday to take on Clint Mathis, Tim Howard and the rest of the MetroStars! Don’t miss the first Rapids TV broadcast of the 2003 season: the game will be broadcast live in Colorado at 5:30pm MT on Fox Sports Rocky Mountain. "
Saturday's game will indeed be broadcast live on Fox Sports Net Rocky Mountain at 5:30pm Mountain Time. The Rapids are planning to release an announcement about all their away games and the accompanying live coverage tomorrow (Wednesday 4/30).
I don't believe it will, but incase something screwy happens with FSRM, the Shootout is carrying the match. Just verified it on my TV.
