Yeah i have an England shirt from 2010 that is in chest size. I think they have stopped all that fit and its gone back to S, M , L and XL now. I might have to do a guestimate then. Suppose i can always send it back if it doesnt fit.

Where are all the umbro fans!?! Feel like this iconic English brand is dying! Nike have destroyed umbro IMO. First they gave the England kit production to themselves. Then they forced umbro's promoting players such as Kyle walker and joe hart into Nike gear. And the final nail in the coffin, Michael Owen (the man who has worm umbro his whole career and won the brand many fans) announcing on his twitter that bike have for ed him into their boots making it clear what they are up to. An obvious case of buying out the opposition and destroying it. Will be surprised to see umbro around in a few years. To me this is a low move by Nike. Really low!

I understand what you are saying but Umbro just haven't been producing the goods for the past years in my opinions.

The boots that they have brought out aren't a patch on the ones they were releasing 10-20 years ago. It says something when Michael Owen is your top name to promote the boots. He's appeared on UK TV more times this season that he has on a football pitch (fact!) as for the England shirts they have been pretty much awful - sports direct proves this by selling the shirts for about £12 about a month after it had been released. Umbro can't compete with Nike or Adidas in boots or shirt manufaction in my opinion.

Yes its ashame its come to this with Nike taking over all their outlets. But if Nike hadn't of stepped in i think we would have been saying goodbye to Umbro a long long time ago.

Anyone know what Big Andy is going to be wearing? He was a big name still wearing the specialis, or did he already switch to Nike and I just not see it?

Agree that their boots haven't been good enough but this years boots have been excellent and well priced and would be a massive shame to no longer have an iconic boot like the speciali. Whilst Nike did save umbro, I feel they used it to their advantage and used it to mask the fact that they basically bought out the opposition and took all its assets as such. Woils have been great to see Nike restore umbro to its former glory producing great kits and boots and acquiring more teams and players, rather than adding to the demise of the brand in the way they have...

Carroll is a decent striker, scored 15 in half a season for us before the switch to Liverpool. Rumours up here were that the sale of Torres rested solely on our sale of Carroll to Liverpool, and that Chelsea would pay whatever we wanted for Carroll plus £15m. Unfortunately for him, that price tag has laid heavy on his shoulders.

Of the 15 he scored, one was a run from the halfway line, beating two men and drilling it in from the edge of the area, he's better technically than people give him credit for. The problem is not of his own doing, he times his jumps superbly and is nigh on unbeatable in the air because of it, and so there is the temptation for a full-back under pressure to go long. He himself isn't playing the ball that way, but it gives a false impression. The best utilisation of him would be to play with genuine wingers and get them to try and get crosses in from the byline, or at least just outside the area, that he can run onto and attack. He'd have scored shed loads of goals for us when we had Ginola, Beardsley, Gillespie et al.

Apart from that, the reported demise of Umbro is premature. They can get back to it, and they still produce some very comfortable football boots. It just seems that they have taken a strategy of either ditching the footwear altogether or saving where they can on endorsements.

If you guys haven't seen the launch colourways yet, here they are. News and more pics are up soon on Unisportstore if you want to see more. http://instagram.com/p/UOd6IUThop/
Anyway, I'm falling in love with the Geometra II's. Have a thing for blackouts, the last is nice and the leather is exceptionally soft. Could be a really nice alternative to the Maestri III.

JayMike, where do you get ur info from? Any news on the next series of gt pro? Have sen the geomatra and speciali and they both look like great boots! Let's hope that umbro carry on producing good boots and we might as some sort of revival! Are the geomatra 2s the ones that are out now or the futures ones? The leather does look great on those pictures from the link! Not enough leather boots IMO.

I'd be wary - refer to my original post.

Umbro are making some slight changes, so that most likely won't be the actual product.

They are? May very well be - those are the samples that we got from Umbro, and they haven't exactly been informative in regards to the new boots. Let's see what happens - the samples are pretty decent at least.
I work for Unisport.dk/Unisportstore.com, Scandinavia's largest football store, so I get to see and review a lot of the newest stuff :)
EDIT: Ah, cheers, noob-bob. Beat me to it!

I'd like to see Umbro go back in the direction they were going post X Boot but before they became nothing more than Nike jr. Think Speciali Statement. Now that is quintessential Umbro.
