Last season, there was this u19 Bundesliga player for Werder Bremen. He had 20 goals and 20 assists in 26 matches.Didn’t sniff the 1st-team bench last season. Hasn’t done so this season, either.— Daniel (@DanielSmith1022) February 22, 2020 Scoring at u19 level doesn’t guarantee success. *I agree he should be with their first team soon to see if he can contribute.*
David Phillip. He has 6 goals and 4 assists in 14 games for Werder II in the fourth tier. Their other 20-goal scorer from last season has 2 goals and 1 assist for Werder II, and has only gotten 3 starts all season. Neither has come close to the first team even though that attack needs help desperately.
this article somewhat mentions uly's involvement in yesterday's game. video dropping tomorrow anyway. article also states that wolfsburg lost 0-3 in the u19 pokal to werder bremen who also lead the league by 2 points. hopefully uly & co manage to win the league so we can watch him live in title race between the other league winners. https://www.sportbuzzer.de/artikel/...gen-die-a-jugend-des-vfl-naher-an-die-spitze/
worth noting that wolfsburg II are 1st and in contention to qualify for the regionalliga next season. not a bad place to be for him but he can probably do better imo
I think that's more reflective those two clubs aren't very accommodating to unproven youth. As an attacker you'd be better off going to Dortmund in spite of the stiff comp. More apt to give you an opportunity if you're a bigger club, and service is hardly ever an issue.
Thanks Charlie. Both were great plays. Terrible marking on the goal... but a fantastic strike. Kind of odd that none of his teammates seemed to rush to join him afterwards... but I will try not to read too much into it. Unfortunately, I see zero chance now that he will see the Senior Team pitch this season. Yesterday Karamoko got 8 minutes in garbage time of a game where Wolfsburg were up 4 goals after 68 minutes. This guy is 20 and has 12 goals and 3 assists in 19 games for Wolfsburg II. Seems like he would need to make waves there first and even then... likely would need injuries to occur. Wolfsburg seem to have built up a very good youth organization... doing well in U19 and II... but it sure seems like promotion is a slow process.... completely unlike Dortmund.
i'm hearing he will be given a debut this season. most likely mid april but could come earlier. i know this isn't specific but yeah, he'll get his chance this season
Just kidding. Of course we won’t because internet message boards are reasonable places where nobody is looking to cast blame.
no idea how important this is but he took part in a first team photo shoot yesterday. article: https://www.vfl-wolfsburg.de/newsdetails/news-detail/detail/news/wolfsspuren-von-donnerstag/ Translation below Smiled: Yesterday, Wednesday, a Marketing and Media Day took place in the Volkswagen Arena, with one or the other VfL professional standing in front of the camera. Whether Wout Weghorst, Renato Steffen or Josip Brekalo, whether Josuha Guilavogui, Xaver Schlager, Pavao Pervan, Yannick Gerhardt or Joao Victor: Everyone cut a good figure in a rather unusual role. So also the participating wolfesses Lena Goessling and Friederike Abt as well as Jungwolf Ulysses Llanez. The film was shot and snapped for important sponsors and partners such as UPS, Linglong Tire and Volkswagen, but also in-house inquiries from the area of CSR and clubs were served.
really good german article here that mentions a bit about wolfsburg and youth. uly gets a shout as well. https://www.90min.de/posts/6571199-...niger-vw-geld-als-chance-fuer-die-jung-woelfe translation: But what will happen in the future? It is difficult to say, a look at the U19 and U23 provides answers. The U23 once again plays for promotion to league 3. Iba May and Mamoudou Karamoko get squad positions and even minutes of play with the professionals. Julian Justvan should also be mentioned. He could also play a role as a perspective player with the professionals. In addition, VW has been pumping less money into the club since the emissions scandal, so that there is a greater focus on youth work. Elvis Rexhbecaj and John Yeboah also spring from the VfL Academy. Both are currently lent. There are also some promising talents in the U19. Lino Kasten, Lenn Jastremski, Tom-Kaspar Berger to name a few. Most have also gained experience in the DFB U-teams. The greatest talent is probably the American Ulysses Llanez. The 18-year-old came from LA Galaxy in 2018 and is currently playing a season of superlatives. The offensive player mostly used on the right or left wing scored 11 goals in 15 games of the A-Jugend Bundesliga and 5 more goals. He played only 67% of the game minutes and was in 74% of the games in the starting XI. Ulysses will probably go his way into professional football, whether it will be at VfL or elsewhere will be shown. Less VW money as an opportunity for the next generation In general, one can say that VfL had and still has good youth work. It remains to be seen what will happen under the new trainer Oliver Glasner in the next 2 to 3 years. In the past few years it has definitely been difficult for new talent to make the leap to the professionals, as the coach has been changed almost every six months and other players have always stood in the way of the talents. Now that VfL has to be satisfied with less money, ie possibly fewer transfers, the talents should finally get their chances and could possibly even form the new face of VfL.
starts + up 4-0 at half. no word on goal involvement yet Ab 14 Uhr empfangen unsere U19-Wölfe den NTSV Hamburg. Das ist die Startelf. 👇 Viel Erfolg, Jungs! 🤝#VfLWolfsburg pic.twitter.com/VamjIx3b8u— VfL Wolfsburg (@VfL_Wolfsburg) March 8, 2020
Looks like he played the full 90 in a 6-0 trouncing... but he didn't have any of the goals. Still can't find any info on assists though.
no big deal just uly testing a career in modeling https://www.prnewswire.com/news-rel...the-healthiest-family-on-earth-301020324.html
