Dávila played today in his team's 5-2 loss against Maritimo. Vitoria was down 2-1 when he went into the game in the 67th minute.
In a League Cup match today, Ulises Davila came on as a sub and played 32 minutes for Vitoria Setubal. Basically doubling his minutes so far this season. Now up to 62 minutes played on the season.
How old is this dude? Even Anibal Zurdo found a team in Mexico that wanted him (Veracruz). Dude needs to come back.
Don't know why guys like this waste away at these crappy clubs. Liga MX is no worse than leagues like Portugal or Greece, and at least you will be playing Mexican style and be seen by the NT coaches. Will earn better wages too.
His Chelsea contract is up at the end of this season and idk if he has his European passport. He's Liga MX bound for the 2016 Apertura season (with Puebla or whoever the newly promoted team are, I'm sure).
And be complacent like many Mexican players are? I, for one, applaud these types of players. I mean, he isn't getting playing time and he's bounced around from team to team, but at least he's trying his luck which is more that can be said about many prospects who are regulars for Mexican teams but amounted to nothing while never achieving any European dreams. Even if it doesn't work he will at least have his EU passport and will land back in Mexico. If he does well he might find it easier to return to Europe a la Layun.
He's stuck it out this long, might as well get his papers. Have him come back to Chivas. We could use him.
I'm not even sure he will get a EU passport Hes bounced around so much that i dont think he qualifies It will be harder for him to find a club in europe once his Chelsea deal expires. He really had to find a way to stick in one of the teams hes been with but hes had lil impact in all but one. Probably will be back in Mexico next yr
He will qualify for a EU passport in early 2016. Also, Chelsea has been paying him around $5ook a season since they bought him. He needs minutes badly tho.
EU passport from Spain? Wouldn't he need to be living there right now? or has the process already started?
I guess? http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/chelsea-ulises-davila-hopes-make-stamford-bridge-debut-2016-1507414 Sounds like his Chelsea contract was extended another year too. http://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2015/6/23/8830045/ulises-davila-chelsea-delusions-of-grandeur
He was subbed in today at the 80th against Porto. He had probably the only shot for Vitoria that actually was a little dangerous for Porto. I haven't seen him play in forever, but I can't believe that this guy can't rescue his career. I think he should come back to Mexico and really work on his futbol.
Wasn't he going to the first division team in Spain but they had to send him back because his loan was up?
You mean Cordoba? The team he helped promote to primera? I think I remember reading that Cordoba didn't want to pay for another loan or something.
i doubt it cost them much to renew probably trying to get something in return rather than let him walk for free you can always sell him to tigres
