War reaches Ukrainian rock band Ziferblat even at the Eurovision Song Contest ABC News 20 minutes ago BASEL, Switzerland -- Ukraine's musicians can't escape war, even at the Eurovision Song Contest. Rock band Ziferblat were in Basel, Switzerland to represent their country when they learned the home of backing singer Khrystyna Starykova in a frontline region of eastern Ukraine had been destroyed by Russian shelling.
But I was told the Felon was a master negotiator and had brilliantly maneuvered everyone to peace by stopping the war for 90 days?
He stopped it on day 1. We're past day 90 now so the truce is over. You just don't remember history correctly because of your "TDS".
Prepare for a shocker here, but the Istanbul peace talks have ended without a conclusion. According to the Ukrainian representatives, Russia's proposals were unacceptable and they were not willing in moving from those proposals. As a result, the Ukrainian delegation is leaving Istanbul and returning to Ukraine. https://bsky.app/profile/noelreports.com/post/3lpceefgil22d As far as what Russia was demanding, they wanted Ukraine to withdraw to the Oblast borders in Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, and Kherson, also official recognition of Crimea as belonging to Russia. If Ukraine did not agree, Russia has said they will invade the Sumy and Kharkiv Oblasts and demand Ukraine withdraw to their Oblast borders in future peace negotiations. https://bsky.app/profile/noelreports.com/post/3lpcdi6p52s2d
Welp, it seems like Russia definitely isn't taking the peace talk serious. Their starting point was to say they didn't want war, but were willing to continue the war indefinitely and commented about maybe the Ukrainian delegation would see more of their loved ones do they want to die... https://bsky.app/profile/kevinrothrock.me/post/3lpcgrqnmis2h
Based on what happened in the Oval, this failed peace talk is all Ukraine fault. They are so violent and want world war 3 and yada yada.
That ********er Zelinskyy should have worn a suit and tie. All the death from that point forward is on him.
Is Russia on the verge of invading/annexing Belarus? I know. I know Igor Sushko https://bsky.app/profile/igorsushko.bsky.social/post/3lpfp5b6xjc2z
Rostselmash, the Russian company that makes agricultural machinery, is taking a early vacation because sales of tractors and combines and other such vehicles are down so much they don't need to make any for a while.
Russia still hasn't used up all the great wealth of tanks and IFVs left to it by the Soviet Union, but because they fixed up the ones in best shape first, they are down to the hard to fix dregs. Where they were restoring 120 tanks a month in 2022, the number has dwindled to about 30 a month now (quite a bit less than replacement rate at current losses). I'm sure the numbers are similar for other kinds of equipment. https://united24media.com/latest-ne...e-show-alarming-trend-heres-what-we-know-8453
Nah.. they produce way more of everything but are filling up depots instead of sending them to the troops in Ukraine. It's why both is true. Russia attacking in wheelchairs and a big number new produces vehicles hold back. Putin will not stop
To see the Trump administration doing things is like watching a toddler learn to walk. Maybe they accept reality somehow in the future even if it happens in a thousand baby steps. I would not bet on it yet, though.
Excellent news from Romania, with pro-Ukraine candidate and clean-government mayor of Bucharest assuming an unassailable lead, great than the number of uncounted votes. A lot of Kremlin money spent inflating Georgescu and now Simion without results. I was going to say "wasted" but that's not entirely true: it got spent, so the Romanian economy got a slight stimulus while the Russian treasury lost some hard currency
No, it wouldn't. The Russian delegation was made up of deputy ministers and deputy chiefs of army operational departments, lead by a guy with no current post whose highest-ever position was Minister of Culture. In diplomatic terms, that's a gesture of contempt, a way of saying "we're here because we had to send someone so we'll just list our demands and go home. At least we got to waste your time". You're not getting any better at this are you?
Welp.. According to JD Vance, if Russia doesn't agree to the US's pro-Russian peace agreement, the US will walk away from the war entirely. So either Russia agrees to a peace plan that is pro-Russian, or they get a pro-Russian outcome of the US stopping to back Ukraine. https://www.reuters.com/world/china...kraine-europeans-demand-ceasefire-2025-05-19/
Trump and Putin talked for 2 hours today. The outcome appears to be that Putin has agreed to start negotiating with Ukraine on a roadmap to a ceasefire. https://bsky.app/profile/kevinrothrock.me/post/3lpjzmyiaws2d Some of the less trustworthy pro-Ukrainian accounts are also saying that Putin has agreed to start tracking damage cause to Russia by the war. I really hope that doesn't mean they'll be working out some sort of compensation for Russia...
I wish Trump supporters were in this thread reassessing their support for so own who said he’d have a peace deal in Day One. Trump is a dishonest grifter yet they bought his bullshit hook, line, and sinker. It would be nice if they could talk about how they’re reassessing Trump in the wake of these facts. But then they wouldn’t be fascists, would they?
There's nothing in the article about the US cutting Ukraine off, which is far more important. As long as the intel keeps coming the weapons are sold - which they will or the donors will be upset - it's not as good as the US assisting but it's also far, far short of handing Putin the outright victory he needs. And those weapons will keep coming. The guys running Rheinmetall and Lockeed-Martin weren't born yesterday. They have just agreed a joint venture to manufacture Patriots and ATACMS in Europe, which they wouldn't have done unless there would be buyers i.e. Europeans transferring a large portion of them to Ukraine
