I was just thinking that Russia might have some trouble getting their tankers through with all the unrest.

Not able to support its allies once again is a very bad message on the other hand. Also, oil price might be not that important if "nobody" is buying. Countries like China unlikely will pay much more.
Oh man, The Dutch House of Representatives decided in December that Ukraine should receive 2 billion euros in additional military support this year. Of this, 700 million has already been found by the previous cabinet. But where is the remaining amount, Kati Piri (GroenLinks-PvdA) wanted to know. She pointed out that coalition parties D66, VVD and CDA also supported her party's motion at the time. Current Defense Minister Dilan Yeşilgöz shakes hands with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a visit to Kyiv in March last year. Yeşilgöz: no extra money to Ukraine, cabinet does not implement motion This year, no additional support will go to Ukraine, as previously requested by the House. Minister Dilan Yeşilgöz (Defense, VVD) made this clear during the debate on her budget in the House of Representatives on Thursday. "The Netherlands cannot provide all the desired support on its own," said the minister.
Oops, Zelensky on thursday made a threat to Orban about the blocking of 90 millions€€ aid to Ukraine. If the blockade does not disappear, "we will pass on this person's address to our armed forces, to our men," Zelensky said. "Let them call him and speak to him in their own language." Orbán reacted furiously on social media. On Friday, tensions between the two countries continued to rise after Ukrainian cash transport trucks with 64.5 million euros were seized in Budapest by the Hungarian authorities.
Orban faces heavy losses in upcoming elections. He will escalate every possible conflict that's gifted to him. Zelensky is very stupid to give him the opportunity.
This is a good article that distills the essence of Putin's war effort https://ridl.io/deathonomics-2-0-why-the-system-is-starting-to-stall/ The TLDR is that the payments for volunteers is such that for a segment of the population, the most meaningful economic activity they can do is die in Ukraine and have someone inherit the money. This allows the war to last almost indefinitely, as deaths only affect a certain segment of the population and most people just live normally. But now it's having problems. First, like the prisoner 'volunteers' used before, the number of people willing to accept a lump sum to almost certainly die is dwindling. This isn't helped by the payment not keeping up with inflation, making it less in real terms than it was years ago. But the payments are still so large they are causing budget problems. And because it gave battlefield commanders a population they didn't need to preserve, it created wasteful tactics that spent those lives for limited gain.
I saw in a Dutch newspaper a report on a frontplace, where the life expectancy of a Russian soldier entering that battle field was a mere 12 minutes I think any commander and any strategy staff member involved in such acts should be considered war criminals and put against the wall.
Last year Ukraine bombed the Russian manufacturer of fiber-optic cable and it looks like that was very successful as it doesn't look like that plant will be producing any until 2028. China has taken the opportunity to gouge prices, and it's not like Russia is in a position to say no. https://www-kommersant-ru.translate...l=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=wapp
The sanctioned Russian bulk cargo ship Caffa was seized by the Swedish coast guard yesterday. It was headed back to St. Petersburg, and has been tracked before carrying grain taken from occupied Ukrainian territory. This is the second ship seized recently. An oil tanker was taken by Belgium (with French help) six days ago.
Ukraine is claiming that they have "broken through" Russian defenses in the Zaporizhzhia region and have advanced 10km behind the defenses. Also, for the first time since they liberated the Kharkiv area, Ukraine liberated more territory in February than the Russian's captured. https://bsky.app/profile/tendar.bsky.social/post/3mgpomygyvs2a
In the ever increasing dispute between Hungary and Ukraine over repairs on the oil pipeline that Russia damaged and Ukraine is delaying to repair, Hungary seized a convoy of armored cars for Ukraine's state bank that were transporting EUR80 million. Hungary claims they were laundering money, while Ukraine claims it was a bank transfer from Austria to Ukraine. Hungary almost immediately released the people and vehicles that were in the convoy, but have kept the money until the repairs have been completed. https://apnews.com/article/ukraine-cash-shipment-detained-hungary-745c17643b9a0965024d7a8410c5fc17
Ukraine hit an electronic components plant in Bryansk with SCALP/Storm Shadow missiles this morning. According to Ukraine, the components are used in Russian missiles and drones. There are a number of videos showing the missiles flying through Bryansk at very low altitude, a number of explosions, and lots of smoke billowing from the plant. https://bsky.app/profile/noelreports.com/post/3mgpqydr5f22u
Wonder if the EU can't cut the money seized by orban from the funds Hungary receives from the EU and tranfer that to Ukraine?
Guys... Is it possible that Trump doesn't know what is happening in Iran??? I mean.. I know I am shocked by this.... Now, imagine if it were a Democratic president making these statements. https://www.cnn.com/2026/03/10/politics/does-trump-know-whats-happening-iran
Why. Even during his first administration his briefings had to be shortened because he wouldn't pay attention to longer briefings. He gets briefings but I'm sure he doesn't pay attention. He also lies whether he knows something or not.
Well, John Bolton was on Times Radio a few days ago and described Trump's PDBs as very similar to the PDBs for Biden, Obama, etc. They were very similar because it was just one guy talking. It's just that the guy talking was Trump, not the briefer, "and nobody learns very much when he's talking".
The head of air defence for Moscow City decided to take the injunction to "fly into action" a touch too literally it seems . . . He was called “the Shield over Moscow,” “the Kremlin’s Dome,” “the Doomsday Pantsir,” and so on…The commander of Russia’s air defense, General A. P. Leonov, flew out of a window and never came back. https://t.co/x3zhmIXu3O pic.twitter.com/edMW10VUyq— Olena Rohoza (@OlenaRohoza) March 11, 2026
Putin's popularity in Russia has fallen to lowest level since the invasion of Ukraine https://www.msn.com/en-ie/news/worl...A1XOzK3?cvid=69af0083bc5b40169939a391580bdf40 It's not the war, it's not the loss of Russians lives, it's not the bombings of Ukrainian schools and hospitals. It's the internet restrictions.
