So.. after years of Russia using Starlinks and Ukraine getting special “military grade” service, SpaceX can finally turn off the Russian modules? *sigh*

Ukraine launched a Flamingo attack on the Kapustin Yar missile test range where the Oreshnik missiles are launched from. They appear to have hit some of the infrastructure buildings, so everything is shut down until they are fixed. Apparently they used intelligence from one of the Russian anti-Putin sabotage groups.

The negotiations are back on and Russia has moved in their position - by introducing a new demand: that every country participating in the talks recognize all occupied territories as Russian.

Ukrainian mother gets a call from son presumed dead
The family of Ukrainian soldier Nazar Daletskyi thought for years that he had been killed. His body had been identified. They mourned at his funeral. But this week he suddenly called his mother after he was released in a prisoner exchange. The video of the conversation is circulating on social media.
Nataliya, Nazar's mother, tells her story together with a cousin to the BBC.
"It was so strange, because my son had died. I buried him, but now I hear his voice. Can you imagine what an emotion a mother feels? Great joy.
I couldn't hold back my tears."
When the Russians invaded Ukraine in early 2022, the then 42-year-old Nazar went to the front. He already had war experience and didn't hesitate for a moment, says Nazar's niece. But in May of that year he went missing. Official news just didn't come. Until a year later they were told that his body had been identified in a morgue in the southeast of the country, with the help of DNA research.
The family picked up the body and held the funeral.
But last September they received a first sign that Nazar would still be alive. A fellow soldier who had just been released by the Russians called them and let them know that he had met him in prison.
"We were shocked, it was unbelievable. But why would he lie?", says the niece.
This week, Nazar suddenly called his mother himself, after having been missing for three years and nine months.
He is weakened, he is tired, but he is coming home.
"I wish all women, mothers and children would receive a phone call like this, and this joy," says Nataliya. "Now I'm waiting for my son, to hug him tightly. I love him so much."

Hungarian Prime Minister Orban calls Ukraine 'enemy'
As long as Ukraine pleads with the European Union to cut Hungary off from cheap Russian energy, the country is an enemy of Hungary. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said this on Sunday during an election event.

The guy is such a corrupt, degenerated thug. If this guy would be at helm of any meaningful state, the world would burn.

“Days after negotiations to halt Russia’s war in Ukraine ended inconclusively in Abu Dhabi, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia and the United States were discussing bilateral economic agreements worth some $12 trillion, including deals that would affect Ukraine,” the Washington Postreports.

“Zelensky said intelligence sources showed him documents that laid out a framework for U.S.-Russian economic cooperation that he called the ‘Dmitriev package’ — named for Kirill Dmitriev, the head of Russia’s sovereign wealth fund and a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin who has been a central figure in negotiations over a potential ceasefire.”

Well, consider the people involved with the current administration as cabinet members and staffers, as well as the well-monied class that helped put these incompetent imbeciles in power in the first place. They believe anything, no matter how delusional it may seem.

A very quick buck. Apparently Russia is offering around $250, while Ukraine is threatening 15 years to life for anyone that helps Russia circumvent the restriction.

The Luch CHP power plant near Belgorod was hit by Ukraine and its two GE turbines have been damaged, along with other machinery. These are obviously impossible to repair or replace now, and Russia has no access to anything comparable.

Many Ukrainian citizens are ethnically Russian.
it just occurred to me…there are certain numbers that permeate the Bible. How many things come in 40s or 12s or 3s?

I can’t think of anything else that there’s 30 of.

No big point here, it’s just interesting.

Seems to be a reference to Zechariah 11:12, but what Zechariah's point in that passage was is beyond me.

AI says "This acts as a prophetic symbol of the Messiah being undervalued and betrayed, directly paralleling Judas Iscariot's betrayal of Jesus. "

I think it's the reverse, Matthew again referencing (incorrectly) a Old Testament verse that he plucks out of context to justify his belief that Jesus fulfills the prediction of the prophets.

Well, 40 is easy. It's poetic Hebrew for a lot. God flooded the earth for many days. Moses led the Hebrews for a long time and we don't know how long Jesus was in the wilderness.

It's more of a number associated with periods of testing, trials and transitional time etc. rather than just meaning "a lot". Some say it is a period of time signifying "totality" or completion.

Moses 40 years in Egypt, 40 in exile, 40 leading the Hebrews
Moses on Sinai for 40 days
    David supposedly reigned 40 years
Women are unclean for 40 days after giving birth
The Babylonian inspired flood story of 40 days and nights (as opposed to the other flood story intertwined with it in Genesis 6-9)
Isaac and Esau both marry at 40
Ezekiel laid on his side for 40 days
Job lived 40 years after his trials
Jesus was 40 days in the wilderness
Jesus was teaching the apostles for 40 days after resurrection
