Anyone with a subscription to WSJ, enjoy. I do not but this sounds like a good story, basically perfect for a movie. How a Ukrainian DJ and his tattoo artist wife carried off Operation Spiderweb, which damaged or destroyed dozens of Russian strategic bombers using drones concealed in lorries. https://t.co/xEwHRNWi6G— Michael Weiss (@michaeldweiss) December 10, 2025
Just days after Russia claimed they had captured Kupyansk, Ukraine is now claiming that they have rolled back the entire salient, have cut-off several hundred Russians in Kupyansk, and liberated several villages that were near Kupyansk. https://bsky.app/profile/noelreports.com/post/3m7rvany2bc2w A number of pro-Ukrainian accounts are pointing out that this operation was planned by Major General Drapatyi and not Commander in Chief Syrskyi. https://bsky.app/profile/noelreports.com/post/3m7sx2oocqk2w There have been a number of criticisms of Syrskyi's top-down command style and blame him for a lot of the territory losses since he was appointed to CiC at the start of 2024. The claim is that Syrskyi refuses to listen to local commanders and is afraid to press Zelenskyy to make changes to Ukraine's recruitment incentives/conscription to address their manpower issues and that, as a result, Ukraine is too dependent upon drones to stop the Russian infilitration units rather than using the more effective soldiers in trenches.
The EU member states have agreed to the proposal to freeze Russian financial assets in the union indefinitely. Until now, a new decision had to be taken unanimously every six months. On the proposal of the European Commission, an emergency power has been used, for which a qualified majority is sufficient. This circumvents a possible veto by Hungary or other Putin-friendly member states. Can we use it too to kick out Hugary etc.?
By qualified majority, about fifteen of the 27 member states must agree. The member states had until Friday 17:00 to respond to the proposal on billions blocked in the EU due to the war in Ukraine. Belgium, Bulgaria, Italy and Malta have agreed, they said in a joint statement, Reuters reports. They immediately note that they are not anticipating a decision on the use of Russian assets for a loan to Ukraine. A decision on this will be taken at the EU summit next week. It is uncertain whether there is sufficient support.
Funny, the first time I saw Top Gun I felt, this is so uniquely American. Same with An Officer and a Gentleman. The one movie about the armed forces from that time that got to me, and that I found more disturbing and relevant in depicting military culture and its dangers, was Taps. That one, with a few very minor changes, I thought could have just as easily been set at a military school in Argentina.
Oil targets hit by Ukraine recently: Afipsky refinery Uryupinsk oil depot in Volgograd oblast fuel train in Crimea with multiple tanker cars on fire The last is important because Ukraine has been systematically attacking the one port that can take oil in Crimea and all the oil infrastructure in the area, not to mention the Russian ports the oil originates from.
I believe the description was "economic suicide / climate fanaticism", as in, this guy - without looking him up, I'm assuming he's a US Republican based on what he said - thinks that adjusting policies to take climate change into effect is bad for the economy. I was hearing something similar from a guy (Republican) who is running for governor of California - they seem to think that anything that limits fossil fuel production and consumption is bad.
It's everything to diminish/abandon/abolish the use of fossil fuels and the promotion of pollutionfree energy like windmills/solarpanels etc.
I figured as much. I am of the mind that economy is not a reasonable counter argument to stop protecting our environmental and climatic future.
Apparently, in a historic first, a couple of Ukrainian unmanned submarine drones (Sub Sea Baby) struck a Russian submarine "Varshavyanka" (class 636.3). According to SBU, the submarine has suffered significant damage and has been put out of action.
Z-media and Z-propaganda are engaged in a collective freak-out about this. Not only have Ukrainians recaptured most of Kupyansk and surrounded Russian forces there, they also deemed it safe enough to bring Zelensky to the SW edge of the town for this video. Trolling to the highest degree.
'Donbas is not Putin's endgame' - Kallas warns RBC Ukraine 2 hours ago If Russia gains control of Donbas as part of a peace deal, it will then certainly continue to seize all of Ukraine, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas said this ahead of a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels. If I understood correctly what she was saying it's unacceptable to the EU to give up the Donbass, as it means the loss of the defensive line and in the end pootin coming in to take the rest.
I've seen video and it is incredible. They snuck drones into the deepest part of the Novorossiysk port, one that is supposed to be super protected against such things. I don't know if any ship in there is safe now.
Despite the US seizing a Venezuelan tanker, the price of oil is still dropping. Brent is now about $60. Every dollar less is a billion less dollars for Russia per month.
Submarine goes boom. BREAKING:Ukraine opens new chapter in the history of naval warfare by blowing up a submarine in the Russian Black Sea port of Novorossiysk. It’s the first time an underwater naval drone was used in an attack. The submarine was used to fire cruise missiles on Ukrainian cities pic.twitter.com/aFz4EqJORM— Visegrád 24 (@visegrad24) December 15, 2025 " Ukraine’s domestic security service, the SBU, said Monday that it struck a Russian submarine in the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk, causing critical damage to the vessel and effectively disabling it. In a statement, the SBU said the operation, which used underwater “Sub Sea Baby” drones, was the first attack of its kind. Video shared by the SBU showed a large explosion at a port. “As a result of the explosion, the submarine suffered critical damage and was effectively put out of action,” the SBU said. CNN could not independently verify the claim." https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles...Z6gqSfCpgQQNIN-yUJUOUI7Enf0zi9NBOZccP7cMfJKus
Well, they’re right. Laws against dumping industrial waste into rivers also are bad for the economy. Laws requiring access to handicapped people are bad for the economy.
Speaking of which, Russia unintentionally confirmed an attack on a Russian warship in August. Included in a press release it was mentioned that the captain of the warship was replaced because he was killed in an enemy attack on the ship.
The face of a man living on borrowed time, supplied by maga idiots: He knows what happens to totalitarian leaders that lose control.
