This would not have been the first time. They have displayed a Nazi soldier as a Soviet hero, Stepan Bandera photograph as a Russian soldier, etc.
I suspect the US has some conditions that they want the Ukrainians to agree to and that they want the Ukrainians to sign an agreement confirming those conditions.
Why not "the conditions are the laws of war"? It's enough for the Swedes and the Finns, who haven't been fighting too many wars in the last 75 years or so
My hope is that part of the agreement to allow Ukraine to use US long range missiles to hit targets inside of Russia is that Ukraine will get JASSM/JASSM-ER and be allowed to use them as well.. JASSM has a 1,000kg warhead (vs 214kg for ATACMS) and, depending on variant, between 374km and 1000km range (vs 300km for ATACMS). That would be a lot of FU dropping on Russian military targets well into Russia.
