    I'm very good at throwing troops at Ukranian guns and such;
and having troops parade outside when hostile drones are watching us:
I've just stepped on a mine and been reduced to ash and dust:
I am the very model of a Russian Major-General

If Ukraine could pull what Wagner did, it would be huge

Looks like I spoke too soon, but it's good news. Ukraine launched a drone attack on a Bryansk warehouse storing Shahed-136 drones, setting it on fire. Russian Telegram is upset because it seems, excepting Moscow, there is no Russian air defense in Russia any more.

And the air defenses in Moscow aren't very good based on how many Ukrainian drones make it into Moscow.

No, the Telegram I mentioned said that they are "often asleep". Not that a system that requires the constant attention of a human where nothing might happen for days or weeks is a well designed one.

Ukrainian SBU claimed they blew up a Russian fuel train on one of the main lines between Russia and China. I've seen claims that the attack was inside a 15km long tunnel, but there aren't any videos or photos.... yet.

I don’t think we really understand why Wagner was allowed to penetrate so deeply into Russia without being attacked. An assumption is that Russia was unable to confront Wagner. Personally, I find that too simple a theory. Russia still has an air force, and it’s hard to see why they wouldn’t have had the military capacity to wipe out that Wagner convoy through those means. Trouble is, that would have brought even more attention to something that looked very much like a coup attempt. But if Ukrainian forces were to invade, well, that would just align with Putin’s narrative; that Russia’s existence is under threat from the West. It would be an invasion by a foreign enemy. Not a shocking act of internal betrayal, a direct challenge to Putin’s rule, as was the Wagner ‘invasion.’

Well maybe because the people who were responsible for intercepting them were actually supporting them.

Having the option to envelope Luhansk through Russian territory would be nice. Just the threat of it would tie up some Russian resources.

There’s apparently evidence that the passengers on ex-Wagner head Pirghozin’s plane were already dead before the plane was shotdown..

You’ll have to “Trust me, bro” since ny links are erroring out as they have censored pics on them…

EDIT: woo! Found a link that works.

Not according to the link. The explosion was large enough that it severed the tail from the rest if the aircraft… Much larger than a grenade..

Sadly, the fuel train that was destroyed a few days ago was not on a rail line that went to China. Rather it went to the far east of Russia. There is trade to/from China there, but this rail line isn’t the main one that gies to China.

Also, sadly, the attack didn’t happen in the tunnel, but ut does appear to have destroyed the train and damaged the rail line. Russia should be able to repair the line pretty quickly tho.

The latest wave of drones sent by Russia to attack Ukrainian's fearsome arsenal of apartment blocks have a new addition. Crammed inside with lots of tape is a cellular modem and a lot of antennas. Best guess what these are for is to give information back to Russia about their position and status - at least, when they are close to cities. This can tell Russia which drones are making it how far, and so they can change the paths of the next waves to hit where the air defense ain't.

Russia has basically zero reconnaissance or damage assessment outside of Russia-aligned citizens phoning them up and describing the crater where a kindergarten used to be.

Not only is Russia not telling families when a family member is KIA, they also aren’t telling families when their family members become POW. Russia also is not exchanging POW information with Ukraine and has stopped doing POW exchanges.

With regards to Russian families of POWs, the fact that Russia doesn’t tell the families anything about their family on the front, it has made it so scammers are taking money from families on the promise that they will find out the fate of their son. Many of these scammers just flat out disappear with the money, but others will make something up.

Fascists' Global War on Woke continues:

Russian security forces raided gay clubs and bars across Moscow Friday night, less than 48 hours after the country’s top court banned what it called the “global LGBTQ+ movement” as an extremist organization.

Police searched venues across the Russian capital, including a nightclub, a male sauna, and a bar that hosted LGBTQ+ parties, under the pretext of a drug raid, local media reported.

The White House has sent a warning to Congress that it is about to run out of funds to support Ukraine.

    https://www.cnn.com/2023/12/04/politics/white-house-congress-ukraine-funding/index.html

Supporting Ukraine still has strong support among Americans, but, as has been noted, Republican legislatures are starting to cool to the idea as Trump has started to signal he doesn't support spending any additional funds and, of course, growing Russian influence among Republicans. This used to be contained within the House, but, recently, even Republican Senators have voiced their opposition to funding Ukraine.

it's worth noting that pretty much all of the re-supply lines from Europe to Ukraine have been cut. With Slovakia's regime change, they have suspended permission to send supplies to Ukraine. Hungary has never supported Ukraine and for the last few weeks, Polish truckers have been blocking Poland's borders with Ukraine in response to the EU allowing Ukrainian truckers to operate in the EU without meeting EU trucking laws and rules. This leaves only Romanian borders, but getting supplies to Romania are complicated because, in addition to Hungary blocking access, Serbia and Austria is also preventing supplies destined for Ukraine to go through their country. This means supplies from Northern Europe have to be sent by ship around through the Mediterranean, while the only land access is actually via through France and Italy and then into the Balkans and Bulgaria. Either way, it is a much longer route to get supplies into Ukraine.
