France is saying the will no longer send SCALP-EG to Ukraine. They are now at the number they need for their own purposes, according to whatever metric they use. They still make those missiles, but they are earmarked for other nations like Greece and I guess production is slow enough there won't be new production for Ukraine.
And the whole reason for holding Crimea was to have a base large enough to house the Black Sea Fleet.
Reports coming in that the Sevastopol strike also critically wounded Col. Gen. Alexander Romanchuk (a 3-star), commander of Russian forces in southern Ukraine, and Lt. Gen. Oleg Tsekov (a 2-star), commander of a motor rifle brigade. More names are due to be announced in the morning. The signals intercepts and the human intelligence was excellent. Can't say the same for Russian operational security
Given where their most important fleet bases are, they will be trapped and wiped out in case of war. They should have invested in ocean based floating naval ports.

The unboxing video is going to be lit really interesting discussions going on about this. It seems Russian air defence can’t stop the cruise missiles. These weapons put airfields in huge danger for example because a prepped launch of aircraft could be caught in the ground. Absolutely devastating ‼️ Archival footage of the ATACMS with cluster bombs#ATACMS pic.twitter.com/rnEvxpCojH— PStyleOne1 (@PStyle0ne1) September 23, 2023
ATACMS is a ballistic missile, not cruise missile.. Of course, I’m not saying that Russian air defenses are good against ballistic missiles, but it is a completely different concept. Also.. Storm Shadow/SCALP have some degree of stealth, which makes it even harder to hit, while ATACMS have no stealth, rather relying on the speed and steep angle to avoid AD. That being said… It’s about to get spicy on Crimea. Ukraine is telling Ukrainians to leave Crimea, even if it means relocating to Russia.. I’d assume Ukraine is hoping to get a couple non-cluster ATACMS so they can hit the Kerch. Ukrainian government has announced that all Ukrainians that may be in Crimea should leave immediately.Things about to kick off..— Jay in Kyiv (@JayinKyiv) September 23, 2023
Ballistic usually means high speed, so that makes it hard to intercept. But ballistic also means predictable, so that makes it much easier to intercept. Except that ATACMS isn't purely ballistic. It maneuvers in flight. That makes it much harder to intercept. But it's also old, so maybe Russia took all they learned from the Gulf Wars to design the S-400 beat it. I wouldn't bet on the S-400, personally.

Damn now I can’t find it. It was a video interview where a Russian acknowledges the social rejection by the west after his country invades and commits mass atrocities upon another country
CONTINUE…??? Right! McCarthy vows to strip Ukraine money from Pentagon bill after Greene ‘no’ vote Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) announced Friday that he will strip funding for Ukraine out of a Pentagon spending bill after Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) joined conservatives in blocking the legislation from advancing earlier this week.
Yeah, but the House is controlled by nihilists. So to MTG that’s a feature, not a bug. It increases the chance and length of a shutdown.
I just hope that the voters are paying attention to all this bullshit, voting accordingly and not doing the party line thing. Yeah, “You can say I’m a dreamer but (I’m hoping) not the only one.
I would think that Dem ads saying that MTG runs the Republican Party, pairing this action with a few of her lunatic quotes (thereby reminding the less informed audience of who this nutter is), might convince a few independents to shy away from the crazy. At least, I would hope.
Because we do not have a Canada fail thread. So Zelenskyy and Trudeau have a meeting in the Canada parliament. They recognize and celebrate an Ukrainian that fought against Russia in WW2. One little problem, he fought for the German SS. https://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/jewis...s-honoured-man-who-fought-for-nazis-1.6575593
