i know that to play foreign games on a PS2 you need a chip. i raelly want to get champ manager or something like that for my PC, but i'm not sure if it'll play on my computer. anyone got any info?
As Ellison says, as long as it's a PC game it doesn't matter where you're living and where it's coming from.
It's wierd why Consoles and DVD's have restrictions yet PC's and Software don't. It's not like you can't get cheaper Microsoftware or hardware from other countries.
it should work on the us pc. we can run us software on japanese windows, but we cannot run japanese software on us windows just due to the language issue.
I run Champ manager on my American pc. No problems at all. Well there is one small problem. Once I put the disk in I can't stop playing the darn thing!
Thats not realy a problem. 21st season with Lazio at the minute won 7 scudettos and 8 European Championships if anyone ever gets that far buy edinhino from sao paulo in the 2019/00 costs a cool 7 million but they guy scores 2 a game on average.
The reason you can't play UK console games on your psx2 is cuss of the TV res. UK tv's are pal were as US tv's are Ntsc res.
So let's say I bought a mod chip from http://www.modchip.com and installed it in my PS2. And let's say I had someone from England buy Pro Evolution Soccer 2 for me and ship it to me. When I boot up PES2 on my mod'd PS2, will it still look funky on my American TV, or does the mod chip convert the display output? - Paul
hey Paul A mod chip does not convert PAL to NTSC. All it allows you to do is load backup games and imports. Make sure you get a modchip that loads backups and imports. If you buy the Japanese version of Pro Evolution 2 ( Winning Eleven 6 AKA World Soccer Winning Eleven 6) you'll be fine, as Japan is an NTSC country. A further suggestion is to buy a "backup" copy of WE6 which has been "patched" to English! It is legal to buy a backup, if you own the original. You can find backup makers on the internet. Eventually, you may be able to buy an NTSC patched version of Pro Evolution 2. You could always buy a PAL TV and a PAL Playstation 2 and then you won't have to worry about anything. Go Timbers!
to clarify, even a uk dvd (not cd) computer game will play on any US computer. I have been wanting Fifa Manager 2007!
