I see that the Albania match is on sky but there is no sign of the Georgia match (29th) on Sky or Setanta.........Nothing on Channel5 website as yet.

    Anyone know?

Disaster if it's not. I had a look on the Sky website, too and I couldn't see it listed. What's going on - does anyone have any idea what channel it is going to be shown on?

Getting a wee bit concerned about this now. Does anyone know if the Georgia match is actually on the box? Been looking around on the Sky website and there's no details of it. Does anyone have a clue what the story is?

I contacted setanta yesterday. They said that the broadcaster hasn't been confirmed yet. Hopefully it'll be sorted in the next week. Surely someone wants to broadcast it

As usual, Setanta are broadcasting it in the US.

    Ireland game

I am a little concerned about the Georgia V Ireland game myself, I was under the impression that Sky had the rights to all of Ireland's home & away games, so why are they not showing this game. I'm living in London, but it can't even be shown in Ireland because of the Sky deal, very strange indeed!!

Will the match be shown on any channel in Europe?

    Georgia TV

I don't expect this game will be shown by any broadcaster.

When England played out there pre France 98, all the media had problems with the local mafia.

I know Sky will be showing the Albania game, the best bet for the Georgia will be radio commentary and possible TV highlights - which may be very brief.

So is the game not being shown at all in Ireland and in the UK?
I know Setanta is showing it in the bars over here in the States.

Setanta are still holding out concerning UK broadcast. The bidding process is still going on. I think the fact that RTE have secured coverage bodes well though. I bloody well hope so - can't remember the last Ireland match I didn't see.

Chances are that even if Setanta don't cover it in the UK, there will be some enterprising venues who will pick it up on satellite and show it. If Setanta don't show it over here, its worth checking with the Swan in Stockwell (assuming you are in London)- in the past they've shown Ireland games not available anywhere else.

Of course the flipside of that is if we win, it'll be 2pm on a Saturday afternoon and you'll be in the Swan with a few pints down you- a perfect recipe for absolute mayhem.

If the game is on RTE it should be available in Europe on Sky Digital.

I see the kickoff is at 15.00, anyone know if that's GMT or their local time?

RTE say kickoff is at 3pm Irish Time and I think thats what the FAI have always said. However, in the UK Ceefax says 2pm..so you had better check nearer the time..

e_k1....I see you are based in Germany...can you pick up RTE there...in the UK you can get the listing up on the EPG (inc TV3 etc) but its scrambled. I wish I could crack it!

Setanta UK said they would email me when the news on the UK TV showing is known. Will let you all know.

you can pick up Sky Digital in Germany, and most of Europe. To get RTE etc on Sky Digital I believe you need to buy the card in Rep. Ireland as opposed to the UK. So if you get an Irish card you should have the channels. This is illegal by the way!

I didn't realise they scramlbed the Irish channels all the time, I though that happened just during some events (Setanta own the rights to broadcast GAA in the UK for example).

Setanta emailed me too and said that because its all so late getting organised they have not had one UK booking as of this morning. I suppose they will filter through over the coming days.

Its not on the Setanta Sky PPV either.

By chance does anyone know anywhere in Reading that might have it / has shown previous matches?

e_k1....i had better get my mates back home onto this. Interesting indeed. I wonder where you can pick one up from. It would be worth a shot to try. Just to be able to get the news would make me happy!

    Swan in Stockwell

I would be pretty sure that the Swanage will be showing it if it is on Setanta, also, try Waxy O'Connors in Leicester Sq(not sure if they have setanta tho), Jack Beards in Tooting Broadway(good luck!!), The Grove in South Wimbledon...

Not sure about any central London venues other than Waxy's that might show it. The Swan is always lively for games.

I think you can watch it live on Setanta.com for $7.00 American.
