Re: UI-Cup Thread Good for HSV, not that good for Wolfsburg though...they're going to have a tough second leg. Even though I'm not a supporter of these two teams I'm rooting for them for the sake of German football in Europe!
Re: UI-Cup Thread This year will be by far the most competitive UI- Cup to date. Historical giants like Newcastle, Marsaille, Lazio, Deportivo la Coruna, Valencia, and St. Etienne will be joining the German teams in the competition. It is very optimistic to hope for 2 of the 3 spot to go to German teams. However, Hamburg has improved since last year, and Dortmund had a stunning second half to last season. Both clubs are desperate for European competition, so they will be taking the UI Cup seriously. I think at least one German team will make it. German clubs need to do well in this year's UEFA cup. I think this year, Germany have the strongest top half of any league in Europe. The top 3 cannot compare to Spain, England, or Italy, but 4 through 8 (Leverkusen, Hertha, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Dortmund) provide 5 very good sides that are all capable of winning the competition.
Re: UI-Cup Thread I also was wondering... Is there a country protection rule in the UI Cup? Would it be possible for any of the German teams to meet during the competition?
I added it but please remember to put a [R] in the title of any thread you are going to put results/scores in.
Sorry, was my first started topic. I´ll will remember it. Yeah, Hamburg made a good result with their reserve team. Wolfsburg had problems, but their opponent was much harder, they must win the 2nd leg in Graz to reach next round.

As mentioned in the other thread, 1st half was horrible, 2nd was OK, should be no problem to advance to the next round (opponent would be UD Leiria from Portugal).
sorry, got the information yesterday from hsv website. Don´t they know, how many people were in the stadium Ok, so attendance: 27.612.
Re: UI-Cup Thread The UI-Cup doesn't count for the UEFA-ranking. So if Wolfsburg make good UEFA-Cup games i want they make it through otherwise not.
^ Yea but suppose they made it all the way to the final and one, adding an extra 1 or 2 Germans teams will make a difference, especially if they go far (which they can)
I think Dortmund and Hamburg can win this tourny and advance far in the Uefa Cup..not too sure about Wolfsburg.
It counts only the average of the Points each team of a country made. So Wolfsburg is only good enough if they are better then the half of the Bundesliga-teams which play in Europe.
Wolfsburg through to round 3! 3-1, Petrov, in what may be his last game, scored twice and misfit Juan Carlos Menseguez scored 1. Neukirchner scores for Sturm Graz.
Wolfsburg reach the next round. Hamburg and Dortmund are set. So I cry wolf. oooooooooooooh-----oooooooh------------oooooooooooooooohh
Hamburg and Dortmund have to play against each other, if both reach the semi-finals. If Wolfsburg´ll reach in the semi-final, they´ll have to play winner of NK Varteks(Croatia) - RC Lens (France).
I doubt the German teams will last to the end. Not with quality opponents like Lens, Olympique Marseille, Deportivo La Coruna, Newcastle United, FC Valencia, and Lazio Rom. Although, we'll probably be fortunate enough that some of these teams have to face each other, and thus forcibly remove one of them from the competition. Still, I wouldn't put money on Hamburg, Dortmund, or Wolfsburg (although I will support them).
