    Ah, the memories. NASL, R.I.P.

Designer of the Caribou Uniform, R.I.H. (rot in hell)

Since I'm not old enough to have experienced NASL, can someone tell me if the HoF is being sarcastic or serious about "unforeseeable turn of events"? If I understand correctly, misguided expansion combined with the dearth of quality American players (and perhaps the ugly uniforms) led to the league's demise.

That pretty much covers it: misguided expansion (most misguided of all was the use of expansion fees as a source of income) and a lack of good Americans (or a lack of sufficently charismatic-yet-third-rate foreign players). It was unforeseen in the same way that you never foresee reality biting you in the ass when you've stuck your head in the sand.

Any soccer uniform with a fringe has to be ridiculed endlessly. What were these guys thinking? Mountain men don't have time for sports, anyway. They are way too busy surviving.

Unless you're with the Memphis Survivors (a ridiculous name if I may say so....)

Do they have to vote one of their players off the team every week?

Any of the uniforms from the MLS first season wins, hands down, of course, special mention to the Caribous.

My vote has to go with the old Norwich City kits.

There was a Coventry City one around the mid to late 1990's that was bright purple and yellow stripes. Can't find any pictures, but it did hurt your eyes and make you feel ill. You can pick just about any Coventry or Man City away shirt for this.

As for Frankfurt, it looks similar to the brilliant Blackburn away kit of 1994/5 season, which I have.

Especially that one when Chris Sutton was playing for them, with the green and yellow bits that made it look like vomit.

Many folks on the Spain board are more than a little miffed at Barca's new away shirt for 03/04:

(I have noted that this shirt bears a scary resemblance to the '98 Burn/Clash shirts from MLS)

Well, at least it's actually a different color than Barca's home kit! What's the point of having an away kit if it looks almost exactly like your home one?

Barcelona has away jersey thats GOLD!

Damn man! MLS were bad....never remember the metrostars one like that. They should just call em NY or NJ not ny/nj. The nutiny was not that bad, cmon germany was worse. I personall like arsenal's home jersey.

Hey whats up with all the national jersey's look a like due to conglomerate (spell?) Nike?
I like Ecuador's of course but also the fact that its made by ecuador's own sports comany...MARATHON-SPORTS.

    ZANK YOU!
