#mufc travelling squad to face Real Sociedad: De Gea, Henderson, Grant; Bailly, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Telles, Tuanzebe, Wan-Bissaka, Williams; Amad, Fernandes, Fred, James, Mata, Matic, McTominay, Shoretire; Greenwood, Martial, Rashford #mulive— utdreport (@utdreport) February 17, 2021 Donny and Cav are out with muscle injuries, which is a worry if they're going to be out for an extended period of time. Let's give the kids a shot here.
Based on the news coming out of the presser and the squad that travelled to Italy, the team I expect to see: -------------------Henderson -------AWB---Bailly---Maguire---Telles -------------------Matic---Fred -------------Mata----Bruno----James ---------------------Mase Would want personally that someone like Diallo gets to start but at least hope that Ole will not hesitate to give mins to both him and even Shoretire (especially if Mata and James were to prove ineffective). I'd go with both Bailly and Tuanzebe in central defense but it's almost a given that Mag will play also. Martial would be a lock to start but with Cavani now out, coupled with Martial himself a doubt at this stage, have to think of the bigger picture and the league still has to be the priority at this time. Sidenote, interesting game coming up tomorrow: we're all aware of our 'Spanish curse' in Europe of late, but Turin has been a happy hunting ground for us also over the years: let's see how things shape out here eventually. Real Sociedad are no gimme: that much is certain.
Wouldn't rule out Rash coming in off the bench, should the situation warrants it. But I'd hope that Ole will have the good sense of not starting him at minimum. We've got some important games coming up in the league where we must pick up points to shore up our place in the top 4. With those EL games in between, you can't keep playing guys Thursday, then Sunday for too long before they eventually go down. We're already seeing how we're starting to lose players, some of them seemingly out of nowhere (like Donny and Cav who probably got hurt in training). Martial and Mc are others who appear to have picked up knocks. We could have serious concerns potentially when it comes to injuries, if the player's load is not managed properly. We simply can't afford to lose Rash now. So whether Ole will rest him or not, I can't say with any certitude. But the bottom line is, he certainly shouldn't start him at the very least...
Definite play for a draw on the road plan. But maybe Amad with 20 left with maybe Rash and Tony coming on 30 to 35 minutes left.
Real Sociedad XI: Remiro, Zaldua, Elustondo, Zubeldia, Monreal, David Silva, Illarramendi, Merino, Oyarzabal Januzaj, Isak

Adnan with the first chance of the game: barely goes wide... Rashford the other way with a 1 v 1 but it's straight at the keeper. End to end stuff as Sociedad go the other way.
Know your clientele. I would never pass the ball to players like Daniel James, AWB and Scott Mctominay in tough situations.
Guessing there will lots of interchanging, positionally speaking, between the 3 forwards but Rashford central, with Mase on the left and DJ on the right is perplexing to say the least right now.
