Pape Sarr limped off yesterday for Spurs. he makes those driving runs on the outside that we did not deal well with at chelsea
i am somewhat surprised we don't have more pre-match discussion here. at least more votes. maybe folks are afraid of jinxing this. i can't recall offhand a final with such huge ramifications for both teams. it is one extreme or the other glory or disaster. no middle ground
I'm not voting here...lol. I don't want to place any expectations on it. I have no idea which United shows up. I'm nervous; this is big.
As a random aside, this would be an awesome final to attend. Stay in San Sebastian and go to the game. If y'all haven't been to this area of Spain, it's awesome. Probably my favorite.
We haven't spurs beaten this season. Just not confident enough but our whole season depends on this game. Will take scrappy 1-0 win.
My expectations are low, and I expect to lose, given our current malaise. Of course, I'll be delighted if we win, but I'm just not up for this one. There are too many question marks. Which Maguire will we get? The mistake-ridden one or the unbeatable CB/winger/striker one? Which Casemiro? The slow EPL one or the magnificent European one? Will Hojlund finally come good?
Our recent dire record against Spurs is against us. History also seems against us in that Newcastle beating Liverpool, Palace beating City means it is the year of the trophy drought underdog. Even ex-Spuds Kane getting his hands on a medal. Just really hope I am wrong …
Team news confirmed: Spurs v United Onana Yoro Maguire Shaw Mazraoui Casemiro Fernandes (c) Dorgu Amad Mount Hojlund Substitutes: Bayindir, Amass, Dalot, Evans, Heaven, Lindelof, Collyer, Eriksen, Mainoo, Ugarte, Garnacho, Zirkzee.
I'm really surprised by that lineup. Shaw starting Maz at RB Mount starting No Ugarte and Case paired with Bruno All big surprises to me.
Sarr, Bissouma and Bentacur starting? Ouch. We're going to get dominated through the middle by their athleticism.
actually the one concern i have with Ugarte is he never finishes 90 mins. stamina issue? so maybe Mount is there to have Ugarte good to go for 2nd half + extra time? this is just a strange one. let's hope it works out
