I know that when France prepared the u-20 WWC 2018 that took place at home, when we got given the 2019 senior world cup, they had 3 years preparation for the generation 98/99/2000 and they made them play so many friendlies as u-17, u-18, u-19 alongside the normal euros games.

Due to the U20 World Cup, it is likely that Spain, Germany, Netherland and France will not have fielded their best U19s. This is the case of France which plays without Chancelle Effa Effa, Melinda Mendy, Liana Joseph, Maeline Mendy, Alice Marques, Tara Elimbi, etc. all called in the U20 team

    Serbia 1 - 1 England
    Matejic 68' --- Enderby 90'(p.)

Serbian team was hard done by the ref. Very controversial handball and following PK called in 90th min. The ball hit Serbian player under the elbow and to the side of the body, the arm itself (length from shoulder to elbow) was tuck to the side of the body in very natural position. Serbia was robbed.

    Matejic goal vas superb!

    Lithuania 0 - 6 France

Hey, it's unfair! Portella sounds very Italian to me: why does she play for Germany?

Actually the Italian Women's National team is not a very popular choice to make right now, if you have choices. But it is improving and this age group just might be the trigger to go further and become a choice destination to go further.

But I did not actually know this tournament was happening so now i am off to find where to watch the rest of it. :)

I've watched highlights and this Dutch team has looked good--impressive. I'm sure France will be a tough match, but there's some talent on this Netherlands squad.

Two nice goals and the Dutch are up 2-0 at the half. 2nd war great. Long kick and van Hensbergen with a perfed headed pass to Talhoek who gets in on goal and beats the keeper. France have had a lot of the ball but only created a single chance that came off the upright and was cleared.

Stalwart defending and poor shooting from France and it ends at 2-0. both CBs, Woons and Kardinaal were outstanding. Lots of poor passing from both teams and they each looked tired in the 2nd half as it was probably a very warm day. So it's Spain again for the championship. Last time the Dutch won this, it was 2014 when Lieke Martens was in the team.

Saw the first half: Some nice play from the Dutch and two excellent finishes for the goals. This is a good team. I thought the mids spent too much time on the ball in the first half and lost possession quite a lot when quicker passing could have opened up France and led to more chances. Spain is good (of course)--but having just beaten Spain a few days ago The Netherlands should be confident. Based on the highlights, that Spain match looked tight and competitive, and the final promises to be the same.

1-1 after regular time. It's hot on the pitch and Spain really look tired. Dutch had several opportunities to win it in regulation but could not put it away. Into extra time we go. Dutch have had the better of the play all match long but it only takes one mistake to throw all the hard work away.

and it comes to pass that my heart gets broken again for the 99th time. The match winner comes off a ball that could not be cleared cleanly, hits a Dutch defender and a sliding Spanish player tips it in for a 2-1 victory. Spain created hardly anything at all showing how cruel the sport can be. The entire 2nd half they played a 5-4-1 but even then the Dutch had some chances. To quote Kurt Vonnegut, "...and so it goes."

The Dutch were the best team in the tournament, IMO, and much the better team in the 2nd half of this game. They gave up a rather stupid goal early on, but put a lot of pressure on Spain, especially in the 2nd half, but could only convert their pressure into 1 goal. I was sure they were going to win it in either the last 20 minutes, or in extra time, but couldn't find that last pass/shot or bit of luck--which Spain ended up getting. Very disappointing.
