UEFA have now updated the association coefficients and there is a change in the top 3 with Spain overtaking England and therefore getting their champion directly to the Group Stage unlike in the upcoming season. The final will be played at San Mames, Bilbao in Spain Three teams 1. France Champion to Group Stage 2. Germany Champion to Group Stage 3. Spain Champion to Group Stage 4. England Champion to Round 2 Champions path 5. Sweden Champion to Round 2 Champions path 6. Czech Republic Champion to Round 2 Champions path Two teams 7. Italy Champion to Round 1 Champions path 8. Denmark Champion to Round 1 Champions path 9. Iceland Champion to Round 1 Champions path 10. Kazakhstan Champion to Round 1 Champions path 11. Netherlands Champion to Round 1 Champions path 12. Norway Champion to Round 1 Champions path 13. Scotland Champion to Round 1 Champions path 14. Belarus Champion to Round 1 Champions path 15. Ukraine Champion to Round 1 Champions path 16. Austria Champion to Round 1 Champions path All other countries have one entry for their Champion in the Champions path Round 1
Is Italy supposed to catch up with Czech Republic within this season, to get three teams in the next competition?
The 5 years coefficient from 2018/19 to 2022/23 is as follows 1. France 69.833 2. Germany 62.666 3. Spain 57.166 ............................. 4. England 47.500 5. Denmark 23.750 6. Sweden 23.166 ------------------------ 7. Italy 22.500 8. Czech Republic 20.833 So Italy are trailing Sweden by 0.666 and Denmark by 1.250. Sweden have three teams and Denmark have two teams like Italy. Juventus and Roma need to do better than Rosengard, Kristianstads and Hacken or Koge and Fortuna Hjorring this season for Italy to get 3 teams in 2024/25

UEFA have disclosed the provisional competition dates. The Group stage is delayed by one month. Round 1 and 2 are also played later due to the WWC 2023 ending on 20 August. Dates are provisional also because FIFA have still not disclose the International calendar. Those dates can't stand if Nordic teams make the group stage. International club football in January never happens in the men's game and it's a very good reason for that. If you're lucky in January, it can be scheduled on a mild winter's day, but I wouldn't bet on it.
UEFA might revert to different dates, but hey FIFA need to publish the calendar, because UEFA are going in blind right now. Also they might have a provision for the Nordics team to play during the daylight and not in the evening.
Well, it's not so much about day or night, it's more about temperature or how much snow you need to shovel away before you can play. It's very likely to see temperatures around -10°C in most parts of Scandinavia in January. Not suitable for elite football. Some clubs have indoor arenas as back-up, but with very small capacity for spectators. Not likely to be used in the UWCL.
UEFA have uploaded the provisional access list for 2023/24: Funnily enough, some of the countries are not ranked as they were in the ranking given at the end of May 22 in my original post 1. France 3 teams, champion to group stage 2. Germany, champion to group stage 3. Spain, champion to group stage 4. England, 3 teams champion to QR2 5. Sweden, 3 teams champion to QR2 6. Czech Republic, 3 teams champion to QR2 7.Italy, 2 teams 8. Denmark, 2 teams 9.Netherlands, 2 teams 10. Iceland, 2 teams 11.Kazakhstan, 2 teams 12. Norway, 2 teams 13.Scotland, 2 teams 14. Belarus, 2 teams 15.Ukraine, 2 teams 16. Austria, 2 teams
Group stage teams qualified: Title holders, France champion, Germany champion, Barcelona. Should Barca or Wolfsburg do the double League + Champions League, the England champion would go straight to the Group stage. AS Roma also qualified as champions of Italy.
Correct me if I am wrong, but since Wolfsburg, who most likely will finish in 2nd place in the German League this season, and if they beat Barcelona in the final would mean the WSL winner would not automatically qualify for the group stage for the up coming season in the UWCL.
Group stage teams qualified: Wolfsburg or Barcelona , Lyon, Bayern , Barcelona. Should Barca do the double: Chelsea will be bumped to the Group stage and Roma will be bumped to Qualifying Round 2 champions path Should Wolfsburg win the Champions League, they obviously go directly to the Group stage instead of the Qualifying Round 2 League path. Then Juventus get bumped to Qualifying Round 2 League path and we would end up with 15 teams in Qualifying Round 1 League path instead of 16. So one of the seeded team would have a bye in their first game and would directly play the final.
Hey, we're talking both Italian teams being bumped up in their respective Champions' League's paths! À la guerre comme à la guerre.

Putellas starts from the bench, as expected. Were we 100% sure that Bronze would have been a starter? No surprises from the Wolfsburg's side, it seems to me. I guess Salma Paralluelo and Sveindís Jane Jónsdóttir could be the two players able to break the game with their sprints and the ones the respective defense should be more careful about.
Wow, maybe Bronze shouldn't have been a starter, after all? She criminally gifts Ewa Pajor a ball in front of Barça's box at 3' and the Polish striker just thanks and scores! I feel some OL-Barça's vibes: looks so much like Henry's goal that marked the beginning of the end for Barcelona.
I had said il looked like OL-Barcelona from last year since the beginning. Barça has a possession around 60%, but Wolfsburg scores again at 36' with Alexandra Popp. Maybe Spanish players are right, though, that she had fouled her marker in the midfield at the beginning of the action.
