I think you are spot on here. I was quite surprised how long they held Bayern at bay - as much as I hate them, Munich is an extremely talented team. JM is good at instilling the bunker mentality, and a match like this will only enforce that.

Hope we meet Bayern again in the Spring. I think the outcome will be different the next time ee face them...

When the team is 1 man down, everyone needs to put in a shift.

That's fair. I just can't stand Hughes, been banned from Cobham on multiple occasions for unsubstantiated rumor mongering.

Jose Mourinho, asked whether it was the right decision to show Ramires a second yellow card for his tackle on Mario Gotze: "I prefer to say no, even if you say yes. Because for me rules are rules but there is a very important rule which is common sense, passion for the game. The referee has to analyse the danger of the situation and consequence for football. When the referee takes a decision like this I am not sure he loves football."

Luiz get some more training under his belt at the club and away on International Duty

other players to get some fitness

also worth mentioning that we have played the Premier League Champions and the Champions of Europe and have looked in it for both games

I don't think that is what the focus is going to be in training, for the next game we play 10v11 and Lukaku needs to defend.

What's odd is that Sky seemed to be rooting for Bayern. Had Liverpool, Utd, or City played as Chelsea had and lost, it would be about the cruelty of football, Bayern's diving tactics, the teams desire, passion, and fighting spirit. Hell, even prior at end of the 2nd half (prior to extra time) Gus was saying Chelsea had been outplayed, despite the fact that we had the clearest of chances. I loved how the commentary team shut up when Hazard scored. Literally 2 seconds away from an excellent victory. In any case, whether through a victory against the odds, or a cruel defeat, the match will serve as conduit through which Mourinho's mantra, his credo will be passed on to the entire quad. I'm actually excited to see how much we'll improve as the season goes on. I hope Mikel get's a game a too, as well. :D

Mourinho once again proves he's an idiot. That was even a straight red card for Ramirez, so he should stop complaining. But well, everybody knows he's a sore loser ("we were the clearly better team tonight!" LOOL!!!)...

And begging the "loud" Chelsea supporters to finally support the team, was the peak of all embarrassment tonight! :p :ROFLMAO:

Why would you post this right now? Purely idiotic from your standpoint. Think next time.....you're usually a smart poster, but this was not your brightest moment.

Also, I like the fact that Jose asked Lukaku if he wants to take it and the young lad said yes. I don't care if he missed.....this is how boys are made into men.

You do realize that when the team as 11 v 11 Chelsea created the more clear cut chances, as in direct shots on goal. Then Ramires was sent off and we still managed score a goal with 10 men. So with 10 men, we managed to attack and score against the best team in Europe, and then held them for 40 minutes until they scored in the last 3 seconds of extra time. You call that parking the bus, eh?

Still super ********ing pissed we lost the way we lost but,

I am super super PROUD to be a Chelsea FC fan today, I haven't felt like this since we won the CL final but today the squad showed what we are capable of, we were the better team over 120 minutes against Bayern who are the champions of europe, who everyone thinks will repeat and are the best team in the world currently, and we just showed that we can as cech said "more than match them" with 10 men for over 45 mins to say the least.

They scored after 120+1 game should have been over, but ******** it I am still proud to be a blues fan, proud of the squad, proud of the way that the players showed what we can do and what CFC means. We have a very bright future and I think this will only make the squad better and stronger.
