Noticed there is no thread for it, but they made into the finals after beating Belgium (hosts) on penalties with 10-players. They will face England in the final. Let's hope they can win; although I wish the senior side would learn from the youth NT's.

Spain Beat England 1-0. Krkic was the hero from what I heard.

Spain, as always, is doing a great job with all ages under 21. We just need to make sure they don't rot in Segunda (A or B) like some of the Real Madrid prospects have.

I have to say the most impressive player has been the captain Camacho. He looks a bit cumbersome but is a powerful defensive midfielder who is also an intelligent distributor of the ball. He looks ready for La Liga in my opinion. Iago Falque also merits a mention for his displays of outrageous dribbling skills.

Bojan is undoubtedly amazingly gifted but his decision-making is very poor, and if he doesn't improve in that aspect he won't get anywhere. Tries to do everything by himself. Lucas Porcar and Ximo also have good potential. I'm not feeling any of the Spanish defenders though, a bit too lightweight in the air.

Hopefully they all go on to have excellent careers.

I agree to that, when it comes to football, I tend to root for Spain whether its clubs or national team so I'm really happy to see their success. I really think the U-17 team did a great job against England and I think the future's bright for them.

Blatter: A U-17 pre-World Cup Invitational To Kick off Later This Month in Korea Republic

In preparation for the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup which kicks off next month in Korea Republic, FIFA President Joseph Blatter has helped setup a U-17 Inter-Confederation invitational tournament which will also be held in Korea Republic later this month. Invited to this tournament are the champions and best squads from every confederation, the 8 teams that will take part in this competition are Brazil, Nigeria, Ghana, Spain, Haiti, Japan, New Zealand, and the hosts, Korea Republic.

For most fans this competition is like a "U-17 Confederations Cup" since it will kick off 1 month before the FIFA U-17 World Cup takes place next month. Interestingly enough it will be good preparation for Nigeria, Haiti, and Japan which will all meet each other again in group D next month while New Zealand will get a preview of the young samba kings.
