Freigang is so much more fun to watch than Popp who usual plays half dead in there. Just wish MVT would stop making the team play that overbearing, pin point passing mumbo jumbo so Freigang can get to her American college & get on some fat breaks, otherwise how else is she going to become the German, Alex Morgan?

Well, as the old saying goes, if you dress like England, you play like England...

    Just Ana Borges' goal here:

Scotland's manager Shelley Kerr was absent, needing to self-isolate after recent Covid-19 cases.

Three matchdays to go in that group. Whichever way it ends up, it's been a great campaign for Portugal. Do they dare to dream of a future home Algarve Cup title...?

[IMG] [IMG] What's going to happen with Norway v Faroe Islands? Was the game cancelled by Uefa?

I am happy for Borges: I "discovered" her in March 2012, when I had a trip in Portugal to watch Algarve Cup, and I always found her a "special player" in some way by then. Almost 9 years after that, she still delivers!

According to NFF it's postponed. I think it's going to be played in February, but no date announced yet.

Only Faroes stay now between N.Ireland and play-offs.
(3:0 or less win will see NIR qualify to play-off with negative GD) :D

3 days ago Spain WNT sponsor SEAT gifted WWC2019 players with brand new cars... as it stands gifted SEAT can impact goalscoring (they should put it into comercial) :ROFLMAO:

France are arguably playing their best football now... which is matched only by all of it off the pitch drama surrounding NT. Time has come to prove it by winning EURO. (then make it into movie and show it in Cannes) ;)

It slipped my mind that Northern Ireland have already beaten Wales on the head-to-head, 0-0 home and 2-2 away.

[IMG] [IMG] A fairly lucky 3 points for NI on Friday (only the home team's goals in the video). But this virtually assures them of a playoff place. Amazing, considering the team only had its first win in qualifying in 2006.

Today is the last qualifying matchday of the year and will finalize some group winners and playoff contenders.

Denmark-Italy is the first decisive match (16:15 GMT, 17:15 CET), but, this pair of games has really been hit by problems.

At Viborg Stadion, the visitors Italy's only hope for 1st place would be to overturn the 3-1 scoreline on head-to-head - but Milena Bertolini says that isn't at the forefront of their minds. Italy team news is on their English-language site.

Belgium-Switzerland has two teams who might both qualify to the Euros automatically. Belgium must win to win the group - Switzerland are leading by a point, so just a draw, like the 2-2 they got there in 2018, would suffice to take 1st place. Swiss goalie Gaëlle Thalmann can't play as she has tested positive for coronavirus. Match previews for the Belgian Red Flames and the Swiss Nati.

In group E, they should have all finished tonight, but there are so many postponements, it makes this only the third-last match round.
Scotland-Finland is a huge game for both teams - the top-seeded hosts are really up against it now (team news here) and in dire need of 3 points against Finland's Helmarit, or Boreal Owls, a nickname to remember.
[IMG] Portugal-Albania is the other game and could take the home team into 1st place.

Elsewhere, Ireland need an unlikely win against Germany, while playoff rivals Ukraine are playing last-placed Montenegro at the same time. (17:00 GMT, 18:00 CET) The game in Kyiv may have a live stream from Ukraine FA.
For all of the groups, Uefa made a guide to who can still qualify prior to today's games, and this is the Runners-Up Super League:

If Italy wins Denmark and there is a good chance of that as Denmark will be without many of their key players like Nadia Nadim, Simone Boye Sörensen and Stine Larsen, and the game between Belgium and Switzerland ends up in a draw it will put huge pressure on both Austria and Iceland to win as big as possible. Both teams have 16 points and Iceland has only a one goal advantage. Iceland will play Hungary earlier in the day so Austria will know how many goals they'll need against Serbia to advance, that is if both teams win their games. It's all a big If.

Even a weakened Denmark is a tough tough ask for Italy. I would be surprised to see them win there.

Actually, Bertolini says that they're not going to make too many calculations, but they're definitely there to win! :) Now, I am not persuaded that it will be an easy task (as @Páll Guðmundsson seems to believe) despite Denmark's missing players, because I've seen too much of a gap between the two teams in the first leg of the head-to-head from about a month and a half ago, but there is no doubt that Bertolini is not intentioned to settle for a draw and to try to decide the race only later on the goal difference against Israel.

Actually, Italy have a missing player for Covid-19 too, since Center-Back (and dangerous header-specialist from set pieces) Cecilia Salvai is still finishing her quarantine for the positivity she picked up at the beginning of the month:

Cecilia Salvai, from her Facebook page

On the bright side, thought, we get back our other top Center-Back, captain Sara Gama, who recovered from a previous injury! :ninja:

I didn't say it would be an easy task but the possibility is certainly there, if ever. Also Denmark has nothing to play for as they have already qualified. That being said, I don't think Denmark will give an inch. I will be rooting for our former overlords. :D

In Group A, Russia finish with 18 points and +10 goal difference in the best runner-up race, unless Estonia win their last two remaining games...
