Based on the FAQ, which as always is not super detailed, they may not be selling KO rounds conditional tickets in this next sales phase? Once the Group Stage fixtures are known, following the final tournament draw on 2 December 2023, a new ticket sales phase will take place. At that time, it will be possible to select matches based on the qualified teams. As for Knock-out Stage matches, tickets for a specific qualified team will be sold at a later time.
No, you can probably only do that through hospitality deals that are at over 1000 euros per game. I was thinking more about sales after the group stages.
For specific teams, yes. There will be another public sale this week for knock out games at random stadiums and teams, maybe starting tomorrow, check your emails around lunchtime in Geneva. There should be a deal where you can follow your team as far as they go in tournament, but there isn't, not even for hospitality at the moment.
It does really suck how they're doing the PNA knockouts. Belgium and Germany also confirmed they're only selling group games at the next phase and the Dutch media alluded to it the other day too (but we find out in more detail on the 29th). For Belgium they even told their members they will do the sale a few hours after the game each time they progress. Imagine dealing with that stuff while you're out celebrating, or in the early hours when your phone has no battery after the big day. Previously it was great to be able to lock in having your knockout game in advance, especially since less other people were keen to commit their money when you don't know how far your team will really go, meaning it was sometimes easier to get them. And because Germany is so easily navigable it's not really necessary to wait. But now when they do it closer to the time once knockout pairing is known, more people will suddenly on a whim decide they want to go. On top of this there will be all the people on the cusp pointswise of being eligible for your knockout especially since the number of tickets available is so much lower for supporters by then (it drops by a few thousand till the final) and then need to maybe buy extra knockouts in general sale and then sell them when they don't reach that path. It's all unnecessary! But on the other hand still pretty exciting.
People who won tickets in the first public round but haven't paid for them have missed their deadline. So these tickets will be offered to people who failed to get them in the first round, maybe starting tomorrow. It's all on the UEFA website.
I checked the website and the FAQ but I wasn't able to find anything about this kind of sale/phase. As much as I love your confidence this sale will happen (and I truly hope for it), at the moment it appears to be wishful thinking to me.
There is a specific reference to it in the FAQ if you dig through it. Not looking again, but it's been discussed at length here once per week lately (in between every repeat question about Portugal membership). At some stage before the Group Stage Draw (2 Dec) they need to sell the tickets from unpaid winning ballot. For Euro 2020 it was four days after the extended payment deadline (Sunday, offers appearing in accounts on a Thursday). Today (Monday) the payment deadline ended for Euro 2024 Ballot. So you'd think it would be sometime this week.
"Those who are unsuccessful in their application in the October 2023 phase will be notified about new ticket availability (resulting from, for example, failed payments of other fans) according to their ranking in the lottery. These tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis." https://www.uefa.com/euro2024/news/...uro-2024-ticket-sales-closes-all-you-need-to/
That wording is interesting from UEFA. It makes the reader think that only unsuccessful applicants will get access to these tickets. However, I would be really surprised if they don't give access to partially successful applications because their lottery spot is higher.
I also heard that maybe the lottery was made by each game individually, and that would give chance to both unsuccessful and partially successful applicants, because maybe a partially successful missed out on one of the games he/she applied for by one spot for that game’s lottery and the same could be said for people who got no tickets. Hope that made sense
I think they count "unsuccessful" as being refused a particular match applied for, which would include the partially successful. ie. they count success by matches, not applications. (repeating what Chuck said above)..
I suppose there will be an online queue when you try to access the portal to buy the tickets on offer?
Oh yes! Not sure if others found the same but I don't remember ever finding tickets available to buy if I hadn't had an email invitation, for 2020/21. Maybe for Baku..
I agree with you both, but UEFA made it seem really optimistic for people who got shut out reading that. I bought many tickets after the initial lottery (and then had to give them all back due to COVID), which were all prompted by an e-mail. I somewhat remember being able to sign into the portal to buy Baku tickets whenever, but that was it and don't anticipate that happening this time.
Seems like it’ll be the same process as the first round. You put in the games you want and they’ll do a lottery
Does anyone know how long the FCFS tickets will be held if you are allocated any? Do I need to pay as fast as possible or are they held for me for a set amount of time once I am offered some? I need to know whether I should have backup card in case my card runs into payment issues.
I eventually found that but there's no date outlined. Hence it could be that these FCFS phase could also be after the group draw, theoretically. What I understand from one of your others posts is that (1) for some reason this phase *has to* take place before the draw and (2) this also was the case with the last Euro. I'm asking because I was unsuccessful in the 2020 lottery (with three family accounts) but none of us received and email with an FCFS window (by invite) prior to the draw.
You will have to pay immediately, once in the portal if you are lucky enough to find any you basket them then you get a few minutes to complete the transaction.
UEFA want to sell as many tickets as possible before the draw so they can fill up stadiums where there might not be much demand once the teams playing are known, say for Albania v Slovakia at Berlin for example. Others did get emails at this stage for 2020.
For people who weren't here last time around, this link is to the equivalent part of the 2020 ticket thread so you can see just how much fun the next stage was. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/euro-2020-tickets-thread.2102640/page-35#post-38092974
Does anyone know at what time they could be sending out the emails? I’m in the U.S currently and wouldn’t want to miss the opportunity
Last time, the mail came around 3 pm CET. So depending where you are in the US, you have to get up early if you don't want to miss it.
