One thing that strikes me is Southgate is showing some balls by making tough decisions and yet people are still whinging at him
Yeah cos bringing on players to take penalties 2 minutes before the end of extra time really worked out last time..
'Maguire is "all good" to be included' Joe Bernstein, Mail Sport: Harry Maguire is 'all good' to be included in Gareth Southgate's provisional squad despite not playing since April 27 with a muscular injury. He has an outside chance of featuring in Saturday's FA Cup final and has no problems fitness-wise for England's opening Euros game against Serbia on June 16.
TalkSPORT say more than 30. How can Palmer not be in the squad? If like you say Southgate must please the social media masses then it will explode if Palmer is left out
I will leave this forum if Palmer isn't in the squad..... Just zero chance of him not being selected.
My guess will be 33ish. the 26 plus 7 who would be on standby list. Not sure if Southgate will push the 26 announcement to deadline.
At this rate, Gareth will have to worry about a Palace clique... straight out of the days of Liverpool and United cliques in the England squad...— John Cross (@johncrossmirror) May 21, 2024 ‘Dunk due a spot? What do we think of this? According to reports, Brighton captain Lewis Dunk is set to be named in the provisional squad. People have been calling for him to play for England for years, but is now the right time for him to make a major tournament squad? He hasn't made it yet, but this would be the first step towards it. After his performance against Belgium in the friendlies, I thought his chances were over. I was obviously wrong.’
Yeah delighted for Gareth it’s really good to see what he’s done here. I can’t complain about a jot really.
Need to see who he actually takes first. This is only a provisional squad. I commend him for leaving out Hendo but the rest is still up in the air.
Feels like Southgate is set to take Grealish to Germany by selecting him now baring in mind he won’t be in most of the training squad. Same for Mainoo.
‘It's been a long time... I have just read another statistic that has me shocked. Kobbie Mainoo wasn't even born the last time England went to the Euros without Jordan Henderson. Let that sink in...’

Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa is set to be included in the provisional squad, which is reward for his season after qualifying for the Champions League. The Liverpool defender Joe Gomez has been included in Gareth Southgate’s provisional squad for Euro 2024, to be announced officially at 2pm today. He featured against Brazil and Belgium in March. His previous caps had come in October 2020. His versatility at centre-back and full-back is a major bonus for Southgate.’ Surely that’s it for Gallagher, and even Watkins and Palmer
