Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliot not expected to be included according to a Times article about Liverpool. Sounds like Trent and Gomez will be included in the provisional squad.

Article is a bit of mess switching between the squad and starting line up (I mean it talks about how hard it would be to leave out Foden - clearly that’s about the starting line up - but then talks about o players who are in danger of missing the squad entirely.

    Wharton is mentioned,
And there are polls for if Rashford should be involved and if Toney, Watkins or Other should be Kane’s back up.

It’s possible they have just posted it early ahead of an embargo tonight.

The Mirror says the opposite. Will be at least 22 non Real/Man United/Man City players. Baring in mind there might be 8-10 players from those three 3 in the squad.

Guess that also rules out Tomori or Butland as well.

Trippier is the most likely player to start at left back at the Euros. Trent expected to play in midfield against Bosnia and Iceland.

Trafford tipped for the third goalie spot. Surely not. He is not ready to come on even in an emergency.

And predicting that Grealish is dropped all together.

England’s likely starting XI for the Euros:

Pickford; Walker, Stones, Maguire, Trippier; Rice, Alexander-Arnold; Saka, Bellingham, Foden; Kane.

    England possible training squad:

    Keepers (3)
    Pickford, Ramsdale, Trafford

    Defenders (12)

Walker, Trippier, Gomez, Konsa, Stones, Maguire, Guehi, Dier, Branthwaite, Lewis, Shaw, Chilwell

    Midfield (9)
Rice, Alexander-Arnold, Gallagher, Henderson, Maddison, Mainoo, Maddison, Eze, Bellingham

    Forwards (9)
Kane, Watkins, Toney, Foden, Saka, Gordon, Palmer, Rashford, Bowen

Given all the absences it would be good if Southgate named Hudson-Odoi in the provisional squad. He deserves a bit of recognition for his season and even if he's not gonna be in the final 26 it'd be good to show him he's still highly regarded within the setup and on the radar. I'd have him ahead of Grealish in the list of backups personally.

Nah. Grealish is far more effective. We already have players that can do what Hudson odoi does. Grealish is a different kind of player to what we have. He slows the game down and brings others into play. I'd have eze in there before cho

I'd say in that LW role specifically Hudson-Odoi is quite a bit better than Grealish and offers a lot of what he does + more. He might not draw fouls as effectively as Grealish but he's just as secure in possession, is a better creator, is quicker & a better 1v1 threat and is a significantly better ball striker.

Not saying he's necessarily a better all-round player than Grealish (yet) but Grealish's best position is not on the left wing, he's just been turned into a touchline winger by Pep to suit his & Man City's needs and as a result Southgate has copied that. CHO is much more adept at the left-wing role in particular because it's his most natural position.

It would be quite the line up starting Trent in midfield and Trippier at left back. One is a very Southgate decision and one is very much not.

Man United insider accounts also stating Mainoo is in the training squad as expected while some are clamming Rashford has been left out.

The Sun say Southgate is unlike to take Toney and Watkins so it will be a tough decision. And that Shaw is likely to miss out on the Euros all together with Trippier starting at the Euros. And that Trent will start at the Euros in midfield.

Trippier is now ahead of Chilwell in Southgate’s eyes and Trafford will be the third choice goalkeeper. Two goalkeepers who haven’t played in Months as backups - what could go wrong. Southgate seems set on Trent starting alongside Ricd and Bellingham in Germany.

Because Southgate sometimes has bizarre ideas like thinking playing Trippier at left back is a bloody good idea, when in reality he should have noticed it never works when he plays there.

He clearly is preparing it for the Euros - it’s obviously in the briefing the press get alongside Trent in midfield. And that he actually think it’s better than Chilwell starting.

The mood music about Shaw doesn’t sound too positive either.

Sadly you could be right! I would rather call up Hall to see what he can do rather than stick with his old faithful when we all know the outcome.
