The most likely cutback is the end of the international game with players Mass retiring under effective order of their clubs. The clubs have the money to prevent restrictions affecting them quite as much.
What's the exact breakdown then. What do they get 1) For the league matches 2) For the League Cup 3) What payments does each club get for live league games 4) What payments does each club get mor eachive league cup game? There are 93 League Cup games over a season
Hey, it's just an idea. Would FIFA ban, England from tournaments if players in Britain had a number of matches played restriction? Honestly, I don't think they would. But it does not really matter, number of matches played restrictions will never happen. Because, as you rightly say, money rules over everything, and whatever leading to even a slight decrease in earnings, will never happen ...
https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...nd-kyle-walker-throw-in-euro-2024-final-spain Good article on Walker's throw just after the equaliser. A kind of microcosm for the kind of safety first and lack of game management that England had through the entire tournament which ultimately left us short. Similarly we had the short corner vs Switzerland that ended up with Pickford and hoofed back to Switzerland inside 2 passes. As the article points out, a mixture of player and managers to blame. Southgate is often far too negative, and at any rate there is clearly a lack of planning in our attack to allow these kind of things to happen, but also too often our players make unintelligent decisions, and its very apparent when you watch Spain by comparison. Walker in particularly must have the lowest footballing IQ on the pitch by a long distance yesterday - it was baffling watching him at times. Quite what he was trying to do for the first Spain goal I will never know.
I wonder if things are a bit better with the younger players in terms of football IQ and better training.
Carragher was claiming on Twitter that Southgate instructed Walker to throw the ball back to Stones. Dunno how he knows that, not sure if he was at the game or not.
God I wish someone would ask Southgate the question! Was sat with my mates and we were all just flabbergasted by what Walker did there, made no sense whatsoever and the dumbest thing I’ve seen for a while since the Switzerland game when we had a corner and somehow managed to get the ball back to Pickford within two passes! What they were trying to achieve in those two instances of play, I’ve no idea!
Becuase he is blaming the players - plus he doesn’t seem to rate Howe or Potter and doesn’t want a foreigner.
Yes the above three should now be Englands RB's - Trippier and Walker have both given a lot for England, but their time with the National team has come & gone. Reece James is far an away Englands best RB. Has been for a few years, just cannot stay fit. I thought Reece and Chilwell were immense for Chelsea when they won the Champions League three years ago. Since then, both of them have had nothing but injury problems Livramento looks like he's going to a really good RB, so hopefully he keeps progressing. And Ben White should come back after Southgate, as he has that familiarity with Saka down that Right Side and can also play on the right side of a Back Three
Saka is better than palmer watkins can only run in behind and doesn’t help with build up I can actually see palmer becoming a rvp style technical beast of a 9 able to drop in Gordon……..palmer……..Saka ………..rice………..Jude ……………..Wharton Shaw…guehi……..stones….white ……………….pickford White is a better defender than Trent and can play with Saka and invert to create a solid 2 man cm wall with Wharton when Jude and rice push up this heat the best out of the players imo. Foden can come in rw and we desperately need the likes of rashford to regain form as the lw area is dry (prefer eze centrally)
the coach and set up is quite clearly not suitable for guy like white capable of inverting, Walker got played regardless of how washed up he is and poor on the ball white needs to come back and trent needs to be used, both much better than the current version of Walker who is simply ‘fast’
Trent, Reece James and Livramento I'm fine with. I think White's best position is RCB in a three tbh.
🚨🏅 Euro 2024 Team of the Tournament has been just confirmed by UEFA. pic.twitter.com/PFIBhLoWTD— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) July 16, 2024 How on earth have they got Walker in there after the tournament he’s had?!?!
Probably as a token England player. Should be Carvajal, but it's very Spain heavy already. Saliba and Akanji are reasonable choices. Guehi could have gone in there. I'd probably have Mamardashvili and Kadioglu in it
Shows how little thought goes into these teams. Stones or Guehi over Akanji were the easy options if you wanted an England representative.
