So relieved for Messi! While I don't feel like the knock on him not winning with Argentina was terribly legit, it is great to see him get Argentina to their first title in 28 years (ignoring the Olympic gold he got with them). And unlike what's his name, Leo was on the pitch when it happened.

Messi is the first ever player to have most goals, most assists, player of the tournament, winner of the tournament at a major international tournament.
This is the sixth time in Euro history that a team will be involved in penalties in more than one match at a single Euro tournament. The previous five lost their second shootout. 1996 England (advanced 4-2 past Spain, knocked out 5-6 by Germany) 1996 France (advanced 5-4 past Netherlands, knocked out 5-6 by Czech Republic) 2016 Poland (advanced 5-4 past Switzerland, knocked out 3-5 by Portugal) 2020 Switzerland (advanced 5-4 past France, knocked out 1-3 by Spain) 2020 Spain (advanced 3-1 past Switzerland, knocked out 2-4 by Italy) 2020 Italy (advanced 4-2 past Spain, ? v England)
England needs to ban every single national team player from ever taking a short stutter-step penalty again.
Thought England was pretty awful after their goal. Italy was the superior team although I think other than Chiesa, they don't have great forward options.
Actually thought Italy will lose at PK. But England are just much worse. Italy's midfield was dominated by Pedri-Busquest-Koke btw, not by EPL
England deserved that loss. Scored the goal and just bunkered. Really pathetic performance. Then they couldn't get into attack mode after playing defense for most of the game. This reminded me of the Liverpool x Spurs CL final up until Italy drew level. Boring as fuk.
Or Denmark! Well OK, Spain was the one, just still sad about that soft PK in ET, but Denmark would've lost to Italy or Spain.
All teams wearing blue won the big titles this year (Italy, Argentina,Chelsea). Illuminati confirmed.
Just when you thought England finally has broken the penalty curse in WC 2018, they lost again on PK in next tournament
I am glad England lost. It’s laughable how the British media used to mock Italy for playing defensive football, but when the English plays the same style, it’s fine. Italy played great and deserved the win.
