    The surprises will be coming in these qualifiers for Euro-08

    First one already: Italy 1-1 Lithuania .

    The Baltic team scored first.

    i think that many of the teams that went far in the wc have players that haven't reached their max. level yet. if you compare teams that even weren't present in germany, they had some kind of 6 weeks off, if not more...
    so i fully understand that italy nor netherlands played at their max. capacity.
    anyway i hope that portugal will do better on wed.

    The trick is to give up as few points as possible in the first few games if you are one of the WC hangover teams. France and Germany seem to be hitting all cylinders, but we'll see Portugal and Italy start clicking soon. I hope. At least we aren't in the position the Italians are in, then again, they thrive under this kind of pressure.
