Postiga out..but both maka and almeida deserved to be called up ahead, so it was the lesser of 2 evils choosing between him and nuno santa maria.

He has kind of fallen out it appears. Besides, I think Nani is much more capabale and creative in that role then Viana.

Hes only just recovering now, the start of the season for Osuana he suffered a injury for 3 months..came back a few weeks ago and got hurt again.

I watched Everton playing yesterday for the UEFA Cup...and I'm surprised how N. Valente can still be the best player of that mediocre team.
Really, he played very well. Probably time to get him back again.
Jorge Ribeiro has been constantly the best player of Boavista, along with Marcelão, but I still doubt if he's nt quality. We'll see i guess.
Caneira is the best of all options, I even rather him to play than Miguel or Bosingwa. We need a pure LB.
Antunes wouldn't be a bad idea but considering that Roma loves to bench him...no idea how fit he is.

In the last game Nani played in Maniche's place and did that role pretty well, I have a feeling that Scolari is going to choose him as Deco's replacement. Of all wingers, he's the best to fill that role. M. Fernandes can do that role as well but I really doubt he's going to start right away.

Don't know why he didn't roosted Moutinho...probably cus this player can give a hand in U-21 qualifyings?

I watched that game and Valente played class for his first start of the season. but he has lost some pace on him but still very soild player.
i hope that pepe and carvalho play together if there get partniship goin before this euro 08 it be a brick wall there both world class defenders.
and im a bit puzzeld that Manelele is been picked hes onli played like 3 games for valenica but he is a class act tho when his on form

Ah...Anyways, I was happy with the call-ups in general.

Here is MY lineup.

Bosingwa -- Carvalho -- Bruno Alves -- Miguel
----------- Veloso ------- Maniche ----------
Ronaldo -------- Nani -------------- Quaresma
--------------------- Almeida ----------------

Defense: I want Miguel on that left side. I personally think he would do well there. Yes his offensive capabilities would be hindered, but we wouldn't miss anything on the defensive side, THAT is certain. Either way, in his overlapping runs he could just pass to Q, Nani, or Ronaldo when he feels inadequate to cross the ball. On the central position, I like what Alves is doing. He is not very fast but does well defensively with his reading of his game. I WOULD put Pepe in there, but I have not seen him play in some time, and from my knowledge is coming back from an injury. If he is fit and in general form...then I would insert him in there.

Midfield: I wouldn't mind Ronaldo playing in the middle and Nani moving to the wing, however, these three interchange wings and positions consistently, so they could just do the same with in this current lineup. I want Q man to have this opportunity, it could very well aid him mentality, that the team is behind what he does...if he falters...we discuss it after the match. Nani, I want this kid centrally! He is on fire right now, the speed of his game is rediculous, and his passing is distinctive...not even going to mention his swag on the ball and what it could create.

Forward: Almeida has to start....hes too hot right. He's a HOT MESS right now. I would love Makukula to get it, as I think he offers more...but Almeida is like the barrel of an AK belongin to a taliban member, smoking! If unproductive, bring Maka in around 65....

P.S: Wouldn't mind seeing Manuel Fernandes inserted in for Nani if we have a lead, or for Maniche later on.
