Friedel's playing at home for Blackburn today with a 1-0 lead from the first leg.

Who else? Is Gooch back? West? Any chance Ferrari will play for Sampdoria?

Hammarby and Davies are in action although I don't know if he's playing or not.

I checked, and it looks like both West and Davies are in the squads but on the bench for the Fred vs Hammer match.

Standard's website has an update showing Gooch entering the game at halftime.

Which might dispel any doubts about whether Standard would hold him out to avoid cup-tying him in the dying hours of the August transfer window. Gooch didn't play the first leg but was supposed to have been getting some minor surgery for a thumb injury, I think.

Anyway, Standard won the away leg 3-0 against mighty UN Kaerjeng of Luxembourg (is that a UN peacekeepers unit?) and this game is scoreless at halftime.

Actually, if the UEFA Cup is setup like the CL in qualifying, then playing in these matches does not cup tie a player. If a player plays in the next round or UEFA Cup proper, then he is cuptied, but not during qualifying. There was a comment made about this during the Rangers v Red Star Belgrade match I think.

Someone might want to double check me on that.

Here's what I've been able to find:

Friedel played 90 and Blackburn won 3-0 on aggregate.
Corrales wasn't on the bench but his team Brann went through 6-4 aggregate.
Ferrari wasn't on the bench but Sampdoria went through 2-1 aggregate.
Gooch played a half and Liege went through 4-0 on aggregate.
Aaalborg went through 4-2 on aggregate, Can't find if Califf played or not.
Zimmerman wasn't on the bench but Hamburg went through 4-0.
Looks like Davies came on in the 90th minute for Hammarby and West made the bench but didn't play for Fredrikstad. 1-1 today, but Hammarby win 3-2 on aggregate.

It looks like Califf played 90 minutes for Aalborg. He had one mention in the club's match report.

Draws for Round 1 are in...

    Friedel: Blackburn v Laprissa (Greece)
    Davies: Hammarby v Braga (Portugal)
Howard: Everton v Metalist Kharkiv (Ukraine)
    Smith: Bolton v Rabotnicki (Macedonia)
Gooch: Standard v Zenit St Petersburg
    Califf, Ferrari: Aalborg v Sampdoria
    Corrales: Brann v Club Brugge
    Bradley: Heerenveen v Helsingborgs
Rossi: Villareal v BATE Borisov (Belarus)
Darsinos: AEK Athens (maybe) v RB Salzburg
    Hangeland: Copenhagen v Lens
Spiegelberg: Atletico Madrid v Kayseri Erciyesspor (Turkey)
Zimmerman: HSV v Litex Lovech (Bulgaria)

Ok, so I realize some of these guys won't be playing with their teams, but that's the most thorough list I can come up with for Yanks in the UEFA Cup. If you think of any more, please add them.
